- Laila: Here’s your cocktail, Novil.
- Novil: With lots of rum, I hope!
- Laila: With lots of rum!
- Caption: Reality.
- Book cover: Excel for Geniuses
- Laila: You need to update the comic more often, Novil! The readers are losing patience!
- Chart: Page visits
- Woo: I haven’t been in the comic for months! Don’t you like me anymore?!
- Woo: All right, here’s your gig! Happy now?
- Email: Sorry, but there’s another delay regarding the test print.
- Novil: AHH! I used the wrong image reduction algorithm! Now I have to redo all 950 pages!
- Novil: What else can go wrong?
- Laila: By the way, Novil, I’ve decided to sue you for sexual harassment and set a Twitter mob on you.
It’s a free online webcomic, and every page keeps the quality up. Anyone who “loses patience” with the update rate can go frick themselves. I’d much rather you keep yourself healthy and keep your comic’s quality up than bust your ass trying to keep to a schedule.
Well, i’m happy to not use twitter. That was, is and will be a serious matter how an arrogant piece of shit make jokes or abuse of it.
People who suffer it going to more vulnerable after those actions.
On the other hand good work needs a lot of time. And life needed even more. After all i didn’t know an author who can make art work dead and the lack of food, drinks and element protections go to (in the more fastest way)
PD: And Novil needed even more money. Two computers aren’t cheapers
@ DTIBA:
All well and good, but because it’s free, that also means there’s no incentive to stick around if we decided that we aren’t enjoying the experience anymore, regardless of why that may be. Novil doesn’t owe us anything, but by the same stroke, that also means we don’t owe him anything.
I honestly feel like your attitude is more than a little toxic. I’ve dropped comics in the past because of both drastic reduction in output and also my own personal loss of enjoyment in the story. Does that make me an asshole? Was I wrong to do so? No, it just means that I no longer wanted to spend the time checking a comic that I no longer felt any investment in. Everyone should be allowed to choose how to spend their own time without being judged negatively for it.
I get the distinct feeling I’m missing something… was there yet another Twitter shitstorm recently?
Seems pretty accurate. I like SAW and regret that we’d never see the really interesting behind the scenes shouting matches. 🙂 Or even ones reenacted with Sandra, Woo, and Larissa.
Or even ones reenacted with a girls hair-pulling fight in a cheerleader-filled mud pit.I never saw what was wrong with the original Gaia’s art, as it was released online (though a swear word or two is due to be grawlixed) and must simply assume the wise and benevolent write/art team knows what they’re doing.
I hope this is not actually a cry for help.
Take your time guys, this is a free service for us!
You left out the part where Hitomi hits you with a chair.
@ Taran Alvein:
RSS readers are your friends! I follow some webcomics that are update randomly every some MONTHS, but I don’t have to check manually. I personally use Feedly, free for use, and daily I can read the updates from almost a hundred of websites of my choice. There’s just a small delay for source seldomly update, but I don’t care reading a post after two days from it’s publication if I’ve waited it for six months.
You’re still updating faster than MegaTokyo. Sometimes being an MT fan is rough.

Alas, we are a dying species. Most readers nowadays only see things, if they bubble to the top of an algorithm.
I am also using comic-rocket.com to follow comics that I want to read only once several episodes have accumulated or that are just too many to follow on a daily basis. But again, niche. (It helps to fill the void left by the woefully inadequate Line Webtoons infrastructure too, but I had to adjust the bookmarklet to fix Webtoon’s broken “canonical URL” links on mobile for “challenge” category comics.)

True! I think it’s down to, what, an update roughly every 3 months?
Never ask for what else could go wrong, universe does not take it as rhetorical question but a challenge.
@ Klaus:
Im old school and bookmark it into my daily ” news ” folder . Takes me 2 seconds to click and check . Great work is always worth waiting for . Thank you Novil .

Months? I’ve got some sources that like to sometimes be silent for years.
Especially ones that go on an indefinite hiatus are easy to keep track of through RSS.
Kiwi Blitz for example is going through a rough period in terms of updates, but I know it as soon as there is one 😀
First, don’t go by Google Analytics’ numbers, since more and more people use ad-blockers these days.
Second, people who whine about updates should just use good old RSS. It’s the easiest way to keep track of webcomic updates.
Lol. Did you actually get sued?
Laila, she got you your knees,
Laila, you’re begging, darling please…
The horror.
THE HORROR!!!!

What about the Visual Novel? I mean, hell, if I had 300000$ Kickstarter money I would simply *pay* a visual novel studio to create the game for me.
@ Belinde:
piperka.net is another good way to keep up on a big list of webcomics, regardless of their update frequency.
@ Nathan:
Amen to that! I even had hope recently, when there was nearly one comic a month, but since then…. RL has been difficult for Piro…:(
Don’t worry, Lackadasy has not been updated at all in 2021 and I still visit regularly… 🙂

I didn’t liked the RSS readers I found so I wrote my own. I guess I’m even smaller minority than people using RSS readers …
There is a webcomic that I have learned to only check two times a year. And that is a bit too often as it could be a year or even two years between updates… Gone With the Blastwave. So it’s cute that some of you have to wait almost six months. 😂 Or in this case a week or so. Terrifying…
@ Nathan:
Sounds like being a Battle Chasers fan and waiting on the comic to come out-at one point it was almost 11 months between issues.
You get the public image you deserve! 😛
May I just say the reality girl is much nicer then the fantasy ones…
Novil why do you downgrade your dreams?
Seems like sexism to me but I guess I can’t deny that twitter is kind of toxic
One reason why I don’t visit as often is the big scary “connection not secure” warning my browser pops up when visiting this site. It seems that WordPress is misconfigured and redirects the “https://” links to “http://”?
Uh… So by “public image”, he’s referring to all the pictures of himself he draws with underdressed sexy ladies hanging off of him, lounging around like Hugh Hefner, crossed with a gangsta rap musician.
Does he believe we, the public, took those seriously? Ahahaha…
