Zoey still isn’t as nervous about Saturday, however, as fans of The Owl House.

Nothing like being a lesbian about to go on a date with your crush, her boyfriend, and her BFF (who is both a pyromaniac and bullied you as kids) to calm the nerves..

Oh dear – here we go again!
Poor Zoey, she’s becoming quite a favourite character of mine and I’d hate if it goes badly for her!!
I love moments like these which show Zoey’s vulnerable side. I can imagine the pressure she puts on herself to be the ace at everything.
Also, this strip shows she is indeed genuinely interested in Sandra, not just “playing” her as a few readers have suggested (understandably, given some of her past behaviour) .
Do we know whether or not Zoey is out to her parents?

She doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to hide it these days. And in a fairly small community, gossip propagates at the speed of light, or maybe a little faster. So they probably know.

She dated Julia for quite awhile and there’s no yet known reason for her to hide it so I don’t see why they wouldn’t. It’s just that anxious teens don’t normally brag to their parents that they’re going to be spending an afternoon alone with their crush and their crush’s boyfriend alone “studying biology.”
…at least not until afterwards.

It really depends on *where* you live in the United States, not just what state but what area of any given state. The closer you are to most (though not all) larger cities the less people care, but the further you live away from a major population center, yes, very much so.
If you live out in the country, parents finding out there is *a* LGBT student in their kids high school can and will become the entire focus of multiple PTA meetings, along with various degrees of attempting to remove said student from the school.
Hell, some areas can still be fairly hostile to children of biracial couples, I saw plenty of that with a few of my younger cousins when they were still in school (they graduated two and three years ago respectively)
I predict Zoey and Larissa will end up an item at the end of various misunderstandings.

According to my knowledge Iran (formerly know as Persia) executed a gay couple just a few months ago. (Seems like there’s still around 70 countries in the world where consenting sex between people of the same gender is considered illegal)

I think everyone is good with watching the others smooch Sandra, but is she ok if Larisa goes for Cloud? Is Zoe ok if Larisa goes for her or tries to get her to kiss a boy?
