Re: Creative outlets
Okay, I don't know if you're still interested, but hey, if you are, I did start a new DeviantART account. It has the stuff on the wall I was talking about in there, as well as a few desktops I've made.

Re: Comic layout tips
You know, Novil, the fact that you find all of these guides and tutorials online and then share them with everyone really lets me like you. Sure, just sharing what you find and think others may be interested in makes you a swell guy; but the fact that you're out there finding all of these guides in ...

Haha. It's even funnier when you realize that some "complete collections" are technically incomplete, too.

That's close enough; although, if you're going to do the same for color theory and design theory, I think it has to be a cake to count.

Which is to say you've done more than those eighty-six? Wow, I really need to start practicing more.
By the way, that reminds me, have you ever studied music theory at all? It helps me out a bit.

Recreative Outlets! Get it?
Well, if you think that some of that old artwork isn't bad, I might have to show you the crazy pictures I plastered on my bedroom wall. It's better, or at least far more recent. On to your music. Well, yeah, I have to admit it's not all the greatest of quality, but you did all of those yourself? Eig...

How about this one?
Does anyone else read Evil Diva?
Angels. Demons. A Really Old Guy.
Seriously, though, Evil Diva is strangely cute and light-hearted, although it does use the tired old premise of "stick mythical beings and legends in a school setting" premise.

You're plenty welcome!

A Very Conservative Perspective
Umm...Did Kazzaa change recently, then? As far as I can see, it's a subscription-based licensed music download site now...with one less 'z.' To the point, though. I know and understand that people will hate me for this, but I'm going to have to say that the $1,900,000 fine is at least partially fair...

No kidding, but I guess they have less luck than I do when it comes to electronics. I've had keyboards survive ten-pound speakers, chocolate milk, and hedgehog pee.

Re: Creative outlets
May I point out that the way you use the word "art" is a misnomer? Music, writing and storytelling are also arts. The term you probably need is "illustration." Which is to say I actually partake in all of these. Illustration is the only one I have any sort of extensive history on...

Homicidal Raccoon?
I have to really question how the raccoon managed to get in the car trunk, without being able to get back out. 1)If the trunk was left open, I don't see how the raccoon could close himself in. 2)If there was a crack in the flooring, the raccoon could have escaped through the same hole. 3)Getting clo...

Knörzer with oe?
Wait, but haven't I spelled it Knörzer before ? Oh, wait, I just did it again! While it is true, there is no key dedicated to "ö" on American keyboards, I thought I'd point out it is actually still possible to type that character, along with all the other variants of letters, in Windows by...

Suggestions, you ask?
I feel that the biggest and most obvious suggestion is to put something out that you would buy yourself. Before, you go all "Duh" on me, think about a certain other strip... Calvin & Hobbes , of course. It never had any merchandise itself, but I know that both of you, Novil and Powree,...

Art art art
Think of it this way: How do we differentiate great artists from a sub-par artists? The quality of the art they make. There has never been a case of a baby being born alongside a fully painted canvas, so it would technically be impossible to be born an artist at all, let alone a great artist. Still,...

Critique Compendium #4:
Boy, when life hits you in the face, it sure hits hard. Let's get back on track. I think I left off with Critique Compendium #4: Nomenclature. Nomenclature is, actually, quite a bad strip. To start off, the writing on Nomenclature is fairly poor. Sandra and Richard come up with a bad name for the &q...

You started with the words "Let's get this train wreck moving," So why would I expect you to be serious? While we're casting a diabolic glare on everybody, though, I'd like to point out that Shadow could be considered a very evil, very scheming individual. Sure, Shadow stopped Woo from eat...

You've seen a Fennec Fox in person? Awesome. I've always wanted to--ever since web-mastering class in high school, anyway--see a Fennec Fox, but there just aren't any I know of around here. Critique Compendium #2: Homesickness
Hello, and welcome back! Before I get started, I'd like to remind everyone that I try to be impartial and impersonal here, but these are still my views. Yours will be different. Also, although I am reviewing Sandra and Woo here, I try to include points that anyone who writes or illustrates can learn...

Explaining the Critique
Hmm... Now, nobody take my summary wrong; I love Sandra and Woo , have absolutely no problem with the focus being on Woo, and very much like video game referencing. However, I try to keep all of my criticism as global and impersonal as possible. You know, looking at the big picture. Things that I me...

Critique Compendium #1: A Sly Raccoon
Did you notice how none of the activity in the Sandra and Woo forum involved actually discussing the Sandra and Woo comic? That's a little weird; so I decided I'd start up this little series to set and attempt to get some blood moving in the forums. Let's start with Critique Compendium #1: A Sly Rac...

Girl Genius?
Good job on finding Girl Genius, Torg, but as a fellow reader, I'd like to point out that Kaja Foglio coined the term "Gaslamp Fantasy" for Girl Genius because steampunk wasn't all that accurate of a description. Still a totally awesome comic, though. Moloch and Dimo are easily my favorites.

Re: My rare Calvin and Hobbes memorabilia
About why Bill Watterson was so adamant against merchandising...well, let's see if I can get it all together and say what I know. To start at the beginning, Watterson actually wasn't completely "dead-set against" merchandising. However, as Watterson said, anything he considered has violate...
