Sandra and Woo advertising banners

Today, I created this advertising banner for Sandra and Woo. I have posted it here because it contains a new gag and so some of you may like it.

The main entry was a strip about blogs with a similar punchline: http://digg.com/comedy/This_is_how_blog ... these_days

Heroes and Thieves by Vanessa Carlton

I’m currently totally blown away by Vanessa Carlton’s latest album Heroes and Thieves . I’ve already liked some songs from her first album and most of her second album, including the wonderful Who’s to say which is one of my favorite songs, but on Heroes and Thieves I love all eleven songs. Eeach so...

Overheard on Digg

Oh well, I would really like to read more good comic strips, but these two comments on Digg contain more than just a grain of truth. (At least concerning gag-a-day strips, I’m not interested in ongoing stories.)

"Tag page" widget - Useful?

What do you think about the widget below the strip on the left side of the page which lets you bookmark a particular strip? Is this a useful function or should it be removed to make the page less cluttered?

Re: Let's talk about Burma

Well, I myself didn’t like the huge amount of political strips in “Ozy and Millie”, so I surely won’t make “Sandra and Woo” a tool for my political agenda. However, there are always ways to bring up serious issues in a comic strip without lavishing moral litanies on the readers. I think a mixture of...

Let's talk about Burma

Today, there was another news report in German online magazines about a Burmese blogger who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for just writing about the hardship of life in his country. Although there are many trouble spots on earth, the situation in Burma has always made me particularly sad....

As far as I know it is legit since Bill Watterson made half a dozen quick drawings like this on envelopes for a fund-raiser.

Yeah, but the piece was sold for a “best offer” of $2,100.

Recommended applications and tools for the PC

In this thread I want to present a few good and free applications and tools for the PC, which have proven their value in years of use. Among them are some very popular applications like the office package OpenOffice, but also some rather unknown ones like the tool Joe for renaming files. CDBurnerXP ...

Re: My rare Calvin and Hobbes memorabilia

A rather sloppy drawing by Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes was sold on eBay for $2,100 five days ago. No, thank you, but that’s neither looking good nor is it meaningful (for this price at least).

Re: My rare Calvin and Hobbes memorabilia

Woo, it's even framed! It was already framed when I had bought it, but of course I would have framed it if it weren’t. I keep wondering why Bill Watterson has strict view about merchandises. sigh. A pvc figurine would be nice... posters, just a few wouldn't hurt. I don’t understand it either. I thi...

My rare Calvin and Hobbes memorabilia

You may know that Bill Watterson, the author of “Calvin and Hobbes”, has always opposed the production of any merchandising articles of his characters. Ignatz is displaying most of the existing unique items on his very interesting website Calvin and Hobbes: Magic on Paper . Because of this shortage ...

Your favorite comic strips

So, what are your favorite webcomics or newspaper strips? Most of my favorites are already listed on the links page, but if I had to bring them into order, my list (excluding the German ones) would look like that: 1. Calvin and Hobbes (with a large margin) 2. Ozy and Millie (although some strips wer...
