Pixar got it right
Today I’ve written two strips about the subject that boys and girls are sometimes talking past each other. They were quite funny, but the amusing parts just didn’t fit together and the strips were also “more of the same” since they would have been similar to some other ones that will be published ea...

Re: Single strips which are really funny or cool
Duxter is great. It’s a shame that it’s been on hiatus for over a year now. At least the archive is back online.

Rejected strips
Usually, strips that are based on a bad idea do not last long and the dialog is moved to the “Sandra and Woo Trash.odt” document. As an rare exception the script of this one was completed, though. It was rejected for being total out-of-character for Cloud, a castrated punchline that would only have ...

Re: [0127] The Fall
Considering that I have already said that there will be an large story arc involving Larisa that will be published in (perhaps) fall 2011 it should be clear that she won’t be killed off anytime soon .

Re: Legit comments marked as SPAM
The comment section will stay for a new, very important reason: - It ensures that there is a lot of text for the crawlers of our ad agencies on the most visited pages of the website. And I really, really don’t want to get kicked off of ADSDAQ for not enough text on the website. (Which is quite commo...

Legit comments marked as SPAM
It’s not happening often, but once in a while legitimate comments by readers get marked as SPAM. I’m checking those several times a week so that I can approve them afterwards. So if your comment did not show up after posting it this does not mean that you’re banned (which is only true for two people...

ConceptArt.org: $ 150k for 3 months? Wut?
Okay, I really don’t have an idea what to make out of this: The webmaster of ConceptArt.org is asking for $ 150k to keep the site alive for another 3 months? Lolwut? I guess there’s at least one salary included in that number, because how the fuck could it cost significantly more than $ 10k a year t...

My first websites
Here you can have a look at my first website (in German, of course) which I created in March or April 2000. I do not have a screenshot of its very first incarnation, the attached one is from November 2001 after several design updates. It’s still partially available at Archive.org . The website dealt...

Re: Your most favorite songs
I already have the first two albums of Delta Goodram. I’d give them both a 4/5. I guess I should also get the third one. I’ve heard now some songs by Dar Williams and I should get more of her, although it could be a bit more up-beat. (I’m also not particularly fond of most songs on Vanessa Carlton’s...

I have removed the comments since it’s putting too much pressure on me when every new piece of work is immediately judged by strangers. I have also gotten the feeling that some readers expect that every update needs to be as good as their two or three favorites which is obviously impossible.

MySQLDumper for automatic backups of your database
If you are hosting your website on your own webspace which supports PHP and Perl, you should check out if the free tool MySQLDumper is something for you. I particularly liked page 7 since I was not aware of the problems with “down shots” yet. Off topic: If each of your new strips get 40+ comments, you have to become quite selective what to do with criticism. “I don’t like this strip because of X and Y.” is usually not very helpful because when you ha...

The first is D. C. Simpson, the creator of “Ozy and Millie” who is currently annoying his fans with the atrocious “Raine Dog”, probably one of the worst comics ever put on the internet. It’s not important enough for the front page, but I wanted to say it at least somewhere: If you want to include my family name when talking about the creators of Sandra and Woo but can’t type an “ö” since that character is not on your keyboard, you could also write my name Knoerzer since “ö” = “oe” ...
