… How does what Larisa did count as a FELONY, as the tag implies? The word has a specific definition in legal terminology, where it’s the “serious” crime in comparison to a misdemeanor’s “lesser” crime. If you ask me, Larisa’s act counts as a misdemeanor.

And quite frankly, I think “felony” sounds better than “misdemeanor”.
How is it they don’t already know each other? Is one of them new in town, and the other two go to different schools? I was under the impression that they all went to the same school, but maybe that’s middle school and they haven’t started there yet. Or maybe their school is so large that they’re all in different classrooms.

I don’t remember what state they are in (if it was mentioned.) Under Wisconsin law, intentionally (or recklessly) causing “physical pain or injury, illness, or any impairment of physical condition” in a child would count as child abuse, which is a felony. Wrecking his immune system counts, right?
Or, you could look at federal law’s prohibitions on biological weapons. I think it could be argued that her use of a “biological agent” here was “for other than prophylactic, protective, bona fide research, or other peaceful purposes.”

In a large enough town or city, there can be multiple small elementary schools, each associated with a local neighborhood. In theory, all three could go to different elementary schools, and meet up in one more regional middle school. Sandra is likely out of her neighborhood in this arc, since she is at the cemetery. Cloud is likely in his own neighborhood, at the nearest playground. Larisa… I guess she could be anywhere, for her own reasons….
I was startled to realize how long it took Larisa to become a real regular. Even at strip 98 (almost a year of strips) Norvil puts in a reminder of who she is.
“If you should have trouble remembering her because she’s not been around much yet, that’s indeed Larisa. You can expect to see her more often in the future.”
She has an appearance saying “I hate you all!” when the crowd prefers computer game sunsets to a spectacular real one and a zero tolerance drug arc (insulin) wherein she is sent to a special school where a 16 year old tries to sell her crack.
And yes, where she takes Russian revenge at strip 33, well after half a year into the strip.
Note this strip is #911, the number in most of America for emergency calls and also
the date of the collapse of the World Trade Center. Funny That.

Yes, flashback. The characters are marked with “as a child” to indicate extra youth to the characters who we know and love as 11 to 13 year olds. 11 in strip #1, which really should be numbered strip #0.
I don’t think woo was born at this point. When the comic started, he was a little less than a year old (he didn’t know about mating season and all it entailed. If he was born at this point, he is probably still with his parents as a kit… which brings up a question, does Woo still have his parents and where are they? We know Lily’s dad at least…
