- Commander Xul: I… hate… humans!
- Larisa: Most of you do, I reckon.
- Larisa: … You’ve already thought about wiping us out, I’m sure of that. But humans are everywhere. You’d have to blow up the whole planet to get rid of us.
- Caption: Human – Terra
- Caption: Zogon – Zogonia I, II, III, IV
- Larisa: Yet, you considered it. More than once. The Zogons wouldn’t have approved, of course. But that wasn’t the reason why you didn’t do it. You didn’t do it because of that nagging doubt in the back of your head.
“You won’t get them all. But they’ll remember you tried.”
In the words of AI Alpha “Leonard Church,” hate is a personal opinion, “You should hate someone because they’re an @$$hole, or a pervert, or snob, or they’re lazy, or arrogant or an idiot or know-it-all. Those are reasons to dislike somebody. You don’t hate a person because someone told you to. You have to learn to despise people on a personal level. Not because they’re Red, or because they’re Blue, but because you know them, and you see them every single day, and you can’t stand them because they’re a complete and total f#¢%!^& d°#$£€bag.” In other words, Xul hates humans like Larisa (or just her in particular) because he personally knows how aggravating they are, while he can’t really hate other humans (especially for that reason) because he doesn’t personally know them all, so at best it’s an undeserved/excessive dislike.
For other species who hate humans for no valid reasons (as in not experiencing any hardships personally from Humanity or a vast majority that wasn’t entirely/primarily the fault of the Aliens) are just being irrational like the Daleks, who hate everything that isn’t one of them or is closely related to them (which is just their home planet and their creator) despite never suffering at the hands of other species BEFORE they encountered other civilizations and life forms.

Plus Larisa doesn’t really have much of that nagging doubt in her mentality. It’s pretty small.
I don’t suppose Zogons is a reference to Vogons from the Hitchhiker’s Guide? The extremely bureaucratic race?
When reading Calvin & Hobbes, Larissa knew all this information about alien life would be useful one day.
Larissa! Stop giving the evil superpowerful ailens ideas!

You know, I was thinking the same.

They look rather funny and not like Vogons at all.
@ AnonymousT:
Actually, the Daleks came into existence because of a devastating war with another civilisation(and species?) on their home planet. Not too surprising they hate everyone.
I should have done my research before posting. The Zogon are not identical to the Zorg.
Althoug the latter change appearance every time Spaceman Spiff meets one of them, it is made very clear that they live on the planet Bog and on Planet X-13. “Zogonia” is none of their worlds.
@ AnonymousT:
I think a few conversations with nearly any of the other species on Earth would be enough to make aliens fear/hate humans. (Pretty much any species except dogs.)

Quislings.
Nigel Uno of the Galactic Kids Next Door was gonna do that. Shame Cartoon Network didn’t pick it up.
Uh… Larisa?
Remember the saying “Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Alien?”
Yeah, please don’t do that…
Well – Bride of the Emperor of mankind material here…
@ OldBrit:
Their creator Davros literally engineered them to possess no emotions other than hate anything and everything that isn’t a Dalek both genetically and through the hardware and software of their Mark III Travel Machine, with an almost complete success given that they still feel remnants of attachment to Davros and small hints of fear when faced up against their greatest enemy.

Thats what happens when you stray from the path of the Omnissiah.
Where does she get the idea that the Zorgons are the Greys’ superiors? All she sees is a picture.
Just once. Just once I’d like to see aliens depict “human” as a woman instead of a man.
Alas, the authors never seem to think of that as a possibility.
Zogonia reference!!!!
