I’m currently totally blown away by Vanessa Carlton’s latest album Heroes and Thieves. I’ve already liked some songs from her first album and most of her second album, including the wonderful Who’s to say which is one of my favorite songs, but on Heroes and Thieves I love all eleven songs. Eeach song has its unique touch (without being too experimental), great piano driven melodies and more than decent lyrics.

If you like pop-rock songs from singers like Avril Lavigne or Michelle Branch you should definitely get it.

Ah, Vanessa. I like one of her songs in the first album. I like her better than Avril, actually. I'lll give it a try then. Could use fresh songs in my Winamp...

I'd like to add some love for piano-playing talented pop females in this thread.

Delta Goodram ("Innocent Eyes" is beautiful)
Melissa Schatz ("Runs with Foxes" may start with the exact same chord as "It's all coming back to me now" but oh, it goes places from there. Lovely places.)
Eliza Lumley (a must, must, MUST for Radiohead fans)
