Just goes to show that you have to account for mistakes with things like this.
An interesting point is that if you go back and look at a video that he recorded five years ago when he was doing a talk about the same thing, you can see the same repeating character issue showing up as a pattern in one of his earlier checks treating it as normal text when in fact the final solution didn’t turn out to be normal text. that just goes to show that your brain will see patterns in more places than really are there some of the time. There is a known issue with humans where we see faces in things even when they’re not. It is a function of the way our brains work.
