My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:On this page, we get the first glimpse of Lilith’s uncanny abilities in the field of time magic. The question is: Why is Ars so surprised by her abilities? Did Lilith intentionally hide her full potential during normal lessons? Or did Lilith have a different teacher for elemental magic?

Dunno how it is at the Academy, but realistically speaking, teachers might not get enough one-on-one with their students to realize the full scope of their potential. Even if Ars was Lilith’s regular teacher, he might not have realized just HOW good she was; he may have fully expected her to get all the spells correct without breaking a sweat, but not *before* he even started casting them.
If this is a re-run, then where is the original run?
I suspect it’s a matter of difficulty. The Academy teaches all manner and classes of students. There would be a wide range of magical ability. So the regular lessons would likely be that of simple spells.
The finals would likely have a simple spell that any of the students should have been able to identify. Its effect on the BlueStream would be minimal, so you would have to be starting it before a student could tell by its effect on the BlueStream combined with hand motions and other things what spell he was casting. Those are likely the spells the students would be exposed to in regular identification classes.
For the finals, the examiner would throw in a more challenging, higher level spell, one to which they haven’t been exposed in regular “identification” classes to see how well they had absorb their lessons. Combine the spell’s greater effect on the BlueStream with Lili’s “time talent”, and you have instant identification of the spell.
Here is another thought. How deeply would time spells be taught in classes? Messing around with time is a very dangerous thing. I would imagine they were only dealt with superficially. And Ar might not have been the Time teacher. His command of the spell might be clumsy and crude — requiring a rather blunt use of the BlueStream. A regular Timer would have been more subtle, more economical of BlueStream. Remember when Lili diluted time at the end of their adventure without even a certain Arch-mage noticing?
So the instant ID is likely a combination of Lili’s talent, the spell’s greater impact on the BlueStream, and Ar’s less than master-level grasp of the Time spell.
Do we have a paradox here? Ars never did cast the spell, so how could it affect the bluestream? Or is Lilith’s abilities so strong that they are cross-dimensional?

In PDF. It used to be online but that was hidden.

Not cross-dimensional, but she can feel possible futures even if they won’t happen afterwards.
