My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:This was the first page that showed Viviana in a state of serious self-doubt. At this point, it was important to show that she’s not some kind of prodigy who’s always successful at first try. The difficult task of opening the safe was the perfect opportunity for this. You know exactly what’s going through her head in this moment. I also would be a “little” worried if there’s a 10% chance that I would lose my hand.

I’d forgotten this page!
Is it that in the past she’s just rejected 10% risks because the goal wasn’t important enough? She risks imprisonment, and falling down walls, all the time. Are magic risks scarier than regular old risks?
@ bh:
New risks are scary. You’re used to the last ten stupid reckless things you did, but you haven’t suppressed your instincts for that one yet.
I never noticed before that Alissa is having to put up with humoring that idiot Janos while waiting for Viviana to finish the job.
@ bh:
I’d say that magical risks (at least of this kind) are independent of your abilities. You may be cocksure of yourself and say you’ll evade prison and scale the wall, but there’s no ducking magical backslash. I imagine.
