@ Alke:
a) No point in needless sacrifice. They were already being unselfish just being there attempting a rescue.
b) They can continue the fight elsewhere
c) maybe bring back reinforcements and rescue Lilith.
If they had known that back in the storeroom, would they have just locked the door and waited it out? Instead of having a dozen guards and a “High Mage” to deal with? This is the sort of asset that Ilias or Ryn would be expected to mention.

Already mentioned that the mentioned “plan B” was likely trying to wait in storeroom hoping they won’t be disturbed next 10 minutes. Without knowing about the shield it would be risky, but not THAT much compared to running.
I suspect if she told them she has shield with 10 minutes duration they wouldn’t bother running.
Oh you know a spell’s good when it’s named after yourself.
How were they not being selfish?

Do Illias or Ryn even KNOW about this spell?
Wow. She’s actually starting to look a bit irate at this point.Takes a lot to accomplish that!
