My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:I believed the special power of Lilith’s staff would become important later in the story. But in the end, no such situation arose. It’s always a sign of good story-crafting if details introduced early in the story become important later. But sometimes the story just goes in a different direction than initially planned.

Lili hugging her staff in the second panel is ADORABLE
There’s nothing wrong with it not coming up later. A story where everything is Chekov’s Gun, and there’s no asides ever will end up feeling very empty in the end.
This does make me wonder, however – what makes this staff so much more precise than every other staff on Gaia? Exotic materials? Elaborate rituals performed during its construction?
@ MauveCloud:
We learn this later in the story.
It would be a huge spoiler (even saying that it’s a spoiler is already spoiling something). Do you really want to know?
The staff doesn’t have the be The One Ring for it to be important later. Learning the extent of how set-up Lillith was, for example.
I wonder if an amorphous contact spell has to be a blue laser. Could it be invisible? During a game of dice, for example? At a casino?
