For all that he’s the villain, it is scenes like this where it is obvious that his underlings have sufficient confidence and respect to straight up tell him that he has to do something that make me appreciate him. There have been oodles of evil villains over the years that would casually obliterate (or condemn to being tortured to death) for having the audacity to raise their voice at him, and only after that going to deal with the problem. Here he at least listens and goes to deal with the problem first. (I don’t recall what happens next, but I don’t *think* it involves flaying the skin off of this subordinate.)
I very much appreciate the fact that he’s not a classic “all bad, nasty to everyone, evil, supervillain.” While he’s definitely not actually a “nice” person, he’s sufficiently thoughtful about those around him that I can understand why people would work for/with him.
@ Zitchas:
I agree that he is a very well written villain.
He has one objective that is “bad” in itself, but apart from that he is not bad himself.
We have already seen that when he “kills” Delvor, he let his guards live. Here he shows respect for his elf engineer, we are going to see him be reasonably merciful with the main group (healing Viviana a 2nd time, accepting to let them live at the very end, …).
He just has a special goal that he is determined to get. Apart from that, he is not evil.

And on top of that, you can kinda understand why he thinks the way he does once you find out *why* he’s doing all this.
@ drs:
I guess there is recording, but he wants to watch her “live”, like most people would want to watch “big” events (like the olympic games) live instead of the recorded version.
Or maybe he forgot to click on the “start recording” button. After all, even the most advanced magitech will fail to help you if you forget to activate it…

Eldor getting too caught up in his reality TV show 😛

Eldor has TV but no VCR or Tivo…
If I’m not mistaken this is also the first scene that clearly shows a difference in technological level.
