I’m not 100% sure, but I can’t recall having seen him actually casting magic prior to this. I’ve always assumed he can – they all can, thanks to their training. Just some are more comfortable with it than others. But I can’t think of any other time he has successfully cast something successfully, particularly while under pressure.
In any case, good job!
I rather like the artwork here, too. The shifting view points and the action of the impact is really good.

In the earliest versions of the cast list, Ryn had a class in magic user (I think wizard). He was the only one besides Lili to have a caster class.

Interesting. I don’t recall ever having seen actual classes for them; so I have just assumed that they are all well-rounded adventurers and are thus all proficient in magic, sword fighting, and archery. Given that we see, for instance, Lilith making a big deal of taking off the chainmail; and some of the other characters working at the potion and spell tests.
Is that old list still around somewhere? The current cast list doesn’t seem to have it.
