Eldor has too much of a difference between how to handle the situation. He could have just ported them away. Even if he didn’t send them to the capitol or something nice, the dwarven wastes were never explored in the story. Just drop them on a mountain somewhere and their deaths would be due to starvation and dire goats I guess, and since the dwarves could live there no problem, it wouldn’t be Eldor’s fault.
The down side would be Ryn surviving as a traveling bard, in magic lederhosen.
