This bit always struck me as a bit weird. I get it, she’s stressed out and not really thinking straight, but it’s just an odd thing to offer when absolutely nothing about his interactions with her suggests that he would think of her in that way in the slightest or seeks anything even remotely like that.
@ Bob — The jarring part is fitting for someone close to a mental breakdown I’d say. When emotionally overstressed (in this case also severely overworked) reactions range from emotional detachment (when she said “yes do that”) to thinking/saying completely situation-deaf nonsense.
From my own experience: When my father died, thinking “oh that means I can skip sports class”. The brain does strange things when it is overwhelmed.
I always read it as Lili knowing that she knows nothing about what Eldor really wants, but understands that he’s a powerful man and powerful men like having control over pretty women, and “maybe he’s never had that before and this could be the thing that makes him normal! If that’s all that needs to be sacrificed now then fuck it I’ll do it”.
The book is magically breaking down her mind and well… Eldor has already pushed her into a state of helplessness— making an offering like this is essentially self-destructive and offering her autonomy and independence was likely the last solution she could think of before (well… I shan’t say, for the first timers).
Since this is a rerun of the series, can we post comments that are slight spoilers?
If this is your first run through, skip this comment.
The first run I was so confused by these scenes where she throws herself at Eldor. I thought she was begging for her friends’ lives, or trying to turn him from his dark path. But to later find out she was acting and successfully fooled him by hiding part of her mind cast this in a whole new light! Such a wonderful twist.

We are not entirely sure she’s acting at this point.

@ Mnemnosyne:
It’s the desperate gambit of someone who knows they are at the point of having literally nothing else to offer.
@ Kittamaru:
Makes sense, but it feels a little jarring to go from “my friends are a nuisance” to “I’ll marry you and have your children to end this madness”.

I thought of something that might be a bit of a spoiler, but perhaps I can word it cryptically:
In light of a certain detail later revealed about Eldor, would he actually be biologically compatible with Lilith?

I don’t think the series has answer to that. In some settings, DRAGONS are biologically compatible with humans.
