My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:Eldor made sure that Olrik held his speech before Savos since he wasn’t sure about the consequences of humiliating Savos that way. Eldor prefers his enemies weak, but not crushed, since that could make them react in unpredictable ways and create room for unwanted newcomers.

Re: page commentary, that makes sense. A lot of long-lived beings in most works of fiction prefer predictability and slow change over the course of years or decades.
…and Faye uses “I drink your wine.” It’s SUPER effective.
