My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:Eldor presented the painting to show Viviana & Co. that he’s not only in control of the Shadowkeep (aka Crystal Fortress), but of the whole situation. He revels in the feeling of superiority.

Why the king is answering questions, not vice versa?
That feeling of superiority is going to get Eldor in trouble later. It would have been better to leave them in the dark about the Crystal fortress, and if they stumbled into it, they would be easy to seize. Or it could be a source of consistent doubt. Ego is controlling him, which is good for the Good Guys, though a morale blow in the short term.

He’s making the decisions, as the absolute political power in the room. As well, it retains the illusion that he’s in control and remaining calm.
