It’s interesting that this group never seems to conclude that it was self-defense that went wrong due to the backlash from the rainbow knife. I guess when money’s on the table they’re not incentivized to reach that conclusion…
@ BlackDragonSlayer:
Sorry, but people always tend to assume the worst about other’s, even after evidence shows otherwise. Sad, but it’s the way it is. It’s even worse when the accuser dislikes the “suspect”, I know it from personal experience…
Well, they figures out it could be the backlash of a rainbow knife. They quickly tag that to the shadow dancers but it means they are aware that in that occasion a backlash occurred. Now it is just a matter of realising it was an accident and from there it DOES make sense. Vivi at that point was already a wanted person, in self defence they used a rainbow knife that caused a backlash. The problem the group needs figuring out is why the “murderers” survived and didn’t call for help.
Which is the shield magic (cast by someone who supposedly was held in custody and executed not much later) and the fact your not going to ask for help when the government already wants their head.
@ BlackDragonSlayer:
The backlash just indicates a magic item mishap. It doesn’t suggest they weren’t intending to cut their way out of that cellar.
Given the poisoned reputation of the Shadowdancers, and Vivi and co.’s extended disappearance during which this stuff happened, there isn’t all that reason to think they didn’t do this for malicious ends. So it doesn’t matter if they did or did not intend for the backlash. And depending on where these adventurers are from, they have no opinions one way or the other to start with about independence movement, and reason to have favorable inclination to the Shadowdancers, that might counter what apparent turn in their organization’s operation.
That’s the best I got. Had some thoughts reading Aminity’s stuff, but I misunderstood and backtracked a little.
