I find the technological mixing in this series really fascinating. Most of the time it looks more or less standard fantasy, but in sort of a “clean medieval” sort of look; what with swords and bows being the primary weapons, horses and carts being typical transporation, etc. But then there is a very high level of magitech here too. Like this transportation sphere. Given the lack of power sources that we see, I presume it runs on magic; but it’s very clearly a machine. And every now and then there’s been anthroform robots, some sufficiently advanced to fool people into thinking they are human; although it is demonstrated that took a massive amount of perfectionist work to achieve.
I would love to see some in-depth writing on the history and technological development of the world and how it meshes together. It’s very consistent, and seems to have a lot of thought put into it.
