For someone that has been planning this for centuries, must say that this lack of magic protections, alarms if you cross without certain Glyph or even a magic void area to avoid these kind of situations is.. disappointing. Yes, we can talk about the classic villain hubris, but Eldor left guards guarding this entrance, so he was not so confident (also not the best guards, neither the best equipped…)
Got to agree. Really, I at least expected the portal to be a fake that disintegrated you, while the real portal was concealed. I expected that guy to lose his hand after “solving” the lock. He’s supposed to be one of the most powerful mages in existence, this is pretty disappointing.
Maybe he’s been dealing with his idiot followers so long he assumes that everybody but himself is an idiot?

Magical defenses sound good and all until one of your mooks who’s *supposed* to be there accidentally gets vaporized because they forgot about the defenses 😛 Realistically no intruder would get that far in the first place, or would simply be stopped by the locks. The fact that the gang was even able to is mostly due to Lilith throwing a wrench in Eldor’s plans by teleporting her friends elsewhere.
As for why the elves don’t seem to be very good fighters, well… that’s a bit less excusable, but I guess they’ve been isolated from the outside world for so long.
Well… damn. Those breastplates sure didn’t do much, did they XD
