My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:If Viviana hadn’t interrupted Eldor’s plans with her speech, he would have double-checked the calculation altered by Lilith. He also would have noticed then that the wrong setup of the acceleration unit caused the shown signal interference.

So based on the author comments its plain stupid luck it all turned out the way it did. Reminds me of dr strange checking all outcomes and saying in only 1 they win.
No, I don’t think it is only luck. But luck certainly plays a part. Recalling that Lili has done a lot of very subtle manipulations to get to where we are. And, let’s face it: Vivi is entertaining to everyone. The fact that eldor decides to forgo some Math to watch her speech isn’t luck, it’s calculated appeal. And perhaps a sign of Eldor’s overconfidence, recent bodily setbacks notwithstanding.
I do like stories like this, where the bad guy is competent, so cunningly thorough, with such a big plan, that took so long to lay the foundations for, that the heroes are severely outmatched. The fact is, it’s more entertaining here, because the heroes win small victories out of sheer desperate luck, as well as a few clever manipulations here and there. It sells the villain as more than just a wall for the heroes to surmount. The villain can, and does pose an actual threat at every corner, and his strength then becomes his weakness, as it feeds his ego. So, the fact that he’s delayed by this speech into not being able to discover his earlier blunder with the math, makes this yet another instance of luck+cunning.

There is randomness/luck everywhere in life. You simply can’t control or predict all outcomes. That’s why you need a Plan B, C, D and E.

You can’t predict everything but you can predict really lot. Ask Leto Atreides II. This actually feels like Lili kept doing manipulations until it worked, without really knowing in detail why it worked.
