I’m in control, I’ve got a bullet-proof soul and I’m full of self-esteem
I invented myself with no-one’s help, I’m a prototype supreme
I sit upon my private throne and run my lifestyle all alone
Me, myself and I agree, we don’t need nobody else
(…)
I just wanna be God! I only wanna be God…
I just wanna be God! Why can’t I be God?
To me this always felt out of character for San. Yes she’s ambitious and wants power, but I never saw here as this petty or likely to throw a tantrum. This is like a 3 year old’s meltdown.
@ Owen Smith:
She’s had a lot of success on the surface (walking in and taking over), but she’s had a lot of setbacks. (Everything leads back to Eldor, therefore not to herself, so she’s not even at the top of her own star list. Good OR evil.) San should be the one giving orders, so she can’t take being ordered about like some space-filler team member. Of course, readers of the full comic know why this scene is even worse for her.

To me it’s just a refreshing reminder that our main characters mostly consist of late teenagers
@ Puyon:
San is high priest of Gaia, and was such before the start of the story. She’s clearly young for that role but realistically can’t be a teenager. Much of the rest of the cast are recent graduates and know each other, but San is not part of that group.
This is the greatest irony ever.
Every mouse just wants to rule the world.
That last panel was so hilarious that it really stuck me with from the first reading of the comic 😂

@ Owen Smith:
It’s a plot point that San is the same age (with near around the same birthday) as Lilith and Viviana (both 19), but Eldor references San as being younger than 20 on this page: https://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/2023/09/29/the-tower-in-the-sky-039/

That was almost two years ago already! 😊
Its okay, San. You can still hit him really really hard.
