Novil is a computer scientist and an “overthinker”: without limitations, such a crystal would probably cause some incoherent magic stuff. Like, can you mimic another twin crystal, or the Tear of Gaia, or other superpowered stuff and that would cause trouble in Gaia’s universe if that would be possible. The avaril is not a problem (it is a powerful flight crystal, and has a strong symbolic power, but that’s all).
It prevents the readers from thinking about breaking-world-recursive stuff.
