Amazing work with the blueshift effect! And there’s quite a few nuances; Ryn being not completely clued in, Vivi being the first to put her question into words, Illias being worried more about Vivi than himself. I hadn’t noticed that in the first run!
Ah, Lili… “A blueshift.” Statement, as fact, as if that word answers all their questions and provides some solid information they can work with, or inform them that they can’t do anything about it, and need to just live with it. But as a reader who doesn’t have several years of academy education in magical theory (among other topics), it just leaves me hoping for some exposition…
I do have a vague recollection of it being mentioned at some time in the past, but I’m not sure when that was, though.
