Yeah, it looks more like L steps into V’s space and hooks the leg. Totally screws the centre of balance that high up, if done right.

Lili is a genius, but it’s a classic maneuver, when someone is so mind-set, you have to distract them. This is no different than slapping a person in a panic to break the downward spiral their mind is in. Lili had to get her completely off-balance or it wouldn’t have worked.
