My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:Readers overwhelmingly assumed that San had nefarious intentions or that she was one of Eldor’s clones. In particular, San’s facial expression in the last panel fueled speculations. But it was just a determined look to instill some optimism in Viviana, like that of a soccer team captain before the penalty shootout.

San looks sinister because we want her to have more layers of motivation. Harder work for hidden plans. And of course, failure because she’s full of herself. And throwing Viviana off the side of a sacrificial pit to Tentacle Bhall wouldn’t hurt any.
So San can cast spells now?
@ Vicious Sand:
I think the reason she couldn’t cast spells before was because that San was a doppelganger in the first place.
So, at some point they all ended up in individual illusions surrounded by illusions of their companions dying in hideous ways, to test their resolve?
@ Brett Bellmore:
Wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened in stories like this. It did give me a bit of whiplash the first time around reading this one, and in others that did the same.
