That should be “childlike enthusiasm”. The scalpers are getting more sophisticated every year. Now they’re trying to poach the guests! A ticket scalper and an ex-con? Viviana should be grateful that they don’t turn to counterfeiting.
@ Vicious Sand:
How did Moatil forge the ticket without knowing what a genuine ticket would look like?
He would’ve obviously found out what they looked like first. Probably by looking at a genuine one somehow. Nobody would’ve paid attention to him stealing an invite, looking at it, and returning it.
It’s all fine and OK when a pair of people (whether friends or a couple) have their own unique hobbies and just have each other / the relationship itself in common. But it can be so much more when they share a mutual language in the form of a hobby, favorite past-time, or vocational interest. The more overlap the better. No two people are identical, of course, there will always be differences in opinions and interests, but having a variety of shared interests that both are knowledgeable in (especially if they are each skilled in a different area of that interest) can be very beneficial in helping the relationship be strong and enduring.
I’m not going to assume that this fellow becomes Lilith’s new romantic partner, and I don’t think she needs one in order to be complete. But I do very much hope that he becomes a good friend. Having a solid friend who can enthusiastically dive into the same interest and, from the looks of it, at least keep up with her and hold her interest in terms of discussing the theory… That’s very important, and very valuable, and I hope it lasts. Lilith does seem to have a good number of friends, and they’re a very competent and skilled group. But none of them seem to have a penchant for diving into obscure magical theory for the fun of it, or messing around with magical interactions just because they want to.
Considering that her last boyfriend couldn’t take her love of magic, I think that even if this guy and her don’t go any father than friends, it’s clear they enjoy each other. With her level of magic skill, few would want to risk her ire, while this guy risked it all just to dance with her. That alone says much about his admiration of Lilith.
Long term? Who knows, but Lilith has more than earned the right to be happy. And if this you man can give her some happiness, who cares, as long as she is happy. And if they do get together, all the better, with the added benefit of her blood and skill might be passed down to her children.
