A Sky Full of Stars 029

  • Silvana Mirkning: Why are you so sure that it’s a weather machine? Just because it’s one in Abel’s book?
  • Scarlet: I mean I don’t know it, but there were two monitors that showed temperature values for a few seconds.
  • Scarlet: I didn’t hear any engine noises, though. That’s why I assume the machine is out of order.
  • Julius: Maybe it has run out of fuel.
  • Scarlet: That’s possible. But I saw several tubes containing a blue liquid. So there’s no shortage of that at least.
  • Julius: How long did you stay in the cave?
  • Scarlet: Only a minute or so. I immediately ran back to my mom.
  • Silvana Mirkning: Is there anyone else who believes you?
  • Tibor: Some of my colleagues showed at least some interest, but that’s it.
  • Julius: You have to come over with Abel’s book tomorrow so that I can read the story too!
  • Scarlet: I will!

  1. I wonder what makes Silvana that interested. Julius’ interest is expected, but Silvana is reacting very different from other adults.
This may be an opportunity though, opportunity for an ally, not having to be hungry and getting a boyfriend.

She could just be a naturally curious person. If someone says something that sounds interesting or promising, she’ll hear what they have to say to determine whether it’s something worthwhile or not.

  2. The blue liquid looks more like coolant than fuel. Or the medium to distribute the heat round the space to be heated.
