This is gonna turn into a Phineas and Ferb moment, isn’t it? The amazing technological wonder will conveniently disappear without a trace just moments before Scarlet drags her mom in to see it, leading the mom to walk away saying “Oh Scarlet, you and your imagination…” and a dumbfounded Scarlet stammering “But…but…but…”

It’s hard to tell what the sound is because can’t hear it and kveeeeeee is at best a hint. It may be an alarm. Something bad is probably going on. Scarlet is going to look for the machine when she turns older and something needs to happen to allow for that scenario. If say she simple returns to the cellar with her mom and the secret passageway isn’t there, she will probably think she was dreaming, even if the experience felt too real to be dreaming. That said, Novil is not predicable, the stories sometimes goes the direction you think they will, sometimes they don’t.

Ariana looks cute like that. It is sort of suspicious that the picture completely matches the view from the hallway, but the best children’s books turn out to be treasure maps sometimes. She should have taken a crystal or something as proof.
Kveee? Is it the Killer Tomatoes? The Daleks? Cannibal Raider Rabbits from the Murder Mountains? The self-destruct signal?
Well, if something happens, then at least Scarlet will be spared the embarrassment of not being able to open the door again.

She definitely SHOULD try to take something, but I understand she was too excited to … besides, there might not exactly be something suitably small and loose to take quickly.
And I must say after people guessing it was dream on previous page … sure, something happening resulting in her not being able to get there again is likely, but maybe Novil will surprise us (again) and she WILL get there again.
Or, possibly, at least have SOMETHING proving her mother that something weird was there.
