  1. So heartbreaking!

  2. I knew a fellow firefighter that told me a similar story, He had pulled a child that was trapped in his bedroom out the window, barely avoiding the back-blast when the air fed the flames. He carried the sobbing and scared kid to the EMT’s and the boy screamed “My puppy! Why didn’t you save him too?!?” All he could do was apologize and hold the boy until he got it out of his system.

  3. He was too late? He was too early, in my opinion. Whatever, the important part is Scarlet escaped, and what she does next.
The Grondian attack probably wasn’t much of an attack. Just a few people trying to kill Tibor.

    1. I’m not sure. Small raid would hardly operate under “leave no one alive” instructions. More likely that those Grondan soldiers were the vanguard; screening force in front of major invasion, “clearing” the territory so no one would be able to actually observe main force and report back.

  4. Honestly, it’s impressive that Scarlet lasted this long before she started crying and fell apart emotionally. She really needs a hug, badly, until she calms down.

    1. She also kept running when her parents were killed. She really did great considering the situation.

  5. Hopefully, Scarlet will not reveal Tibor’s robbery.

Anyway, I wonder what the Grondans were planning. Either their objective didn’t require them to take this base or the attack was desperate.

    1. The objective was to not let anyone seeing the attack near the base. They failed that. They don’t have enough people to actually take this base. Yet.
