- Sign: 20 tasty flavors!
- Sandra: This scoop of chocolate ice cream is like heaven! You have to taste it!
- Larisa: That’s probably not a good idea. You know, because of my “condition.”
- Sandra: Come on. Licking it once surely can’t hurt.
- Larisa: Well, if you insist…
- Sandra: Ew!
- Larisa: You were warned.

Sandras face is godlike when larisa shows off her licking skills
Larisa uses LICK!
It’s SUPER EFFECTIVE!
Sandra is now PARALYZED.
what tf kinda condition is this?! and how did she get that? 😐
@ sagy:
She’s a succubus.
This really, REALLY pleases the part of me that is a gigantic Mysterious Girlfriend X fan.
For the record I feel like Larisa would absolutely love that show.
Way to toy with your long-time readers feelings 😀
It’s like One Bite from Ned’s Guide.
Dunno what condition she has that causes that, I can’t see it being because she’s a sucubus as I’ve never heard of a sucubus with a tongue like that
I originally thought it was referring to that disease she has but her being a succubus makes more sense now.

I think she refers to the fact she doesn’t descend from Adam and Eve but from the snake, as she said in strip 762 (assuming THAT is the source of the many strange abilities Larisa had even before her deal with the Devil).
i don’t…. Why does…. Is it a demon thing??? I’M SO CONFUSED!!!!
Larisa’s condition: cartoon physics,
Other rules and complains need not to apply.
Th-th-th-that’s all, folks.
She sells her soul to become a succubus, but doesn’t change physically in any way except for her tongue? This has been the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever.
@ Rmugi:
Her tongue actually predates her selling her soul to Satan (first part of that arc was strip #802, snake-tongue was about 40 strips before that)… unless the effects are retroactive.
Speaking of condition, does Larisa still have Wolfram Syndrome?
If yes, would she become a true succubus upon dying?
@ sagy:
She is also a diabetic.
@ SmartAlec105:
She still could be; she’s type I diabetic after all.
I suppose you could conjecture her macroglossia is a result of congenital defect stemming from her Wolfram Syndrome, but it’s probably more for comedic effect than anything else.
Definitely from her being a succubus. And her being able to… bend physics for carnal pleasures, like smooching Landon while grounded… or some chocolate ice cream.
When the time comes, in about 8 or 9 years, and if they are still together, Landon, will love that condition. Sorry I do not know what happened to me,
Thus the answer to how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? One. ^
Ah right… THAT condition…
Not a bad condition. Theres lots of things you can do with a tongue like that. (heh, heh.)
The lesson here, folks, is never share your food with anyone. Back in my day we didn’t have the CDC running around vaccinating us all the time, running a perpetual accelerated arms race with mother nature.
Larissa had to avoid chocolate? The Hunger had been waiting a long time.
Diabetes, Wolfram, detachable jaw (as she’s descended from Eden’s snake), Succubus-in-training, and now part Lickitung. What next for Larisa?
I love that girl!

“Arms race”? You’re thinking of antibiotics. Vaccines have eradicated diseases.

As for succubus-in-training, I think #933 mentioning Larisa as «future senior manager» implies that the promotion from #808 («There’s a special place in hell for people like you! Namely, the Board of Directors!») is in effect in this plot line and #819 «You want to become a successful succubus after all, don’t you?» is a one-off.
@ Atsuki:
If you enumerate Larisa’s one-strip powers, she can also opt out of gravity for a few minutes. At least in the gym class, see #350
@ Michael: I don’t see a conflict between #819 and #808 & #933.
Larissa’s future job is senior manager/director of succubi. To do that properly she needs full succubus training.

Yellow speech bubbles with fourth-wall breaking jokes in them?

Disease can develop mutations that make it so their protein shell no longer matches that of previous generations. It’s why you need a yearly flu vaccine, because the flu mutates so much that one year’s vaccine contains almost completely different viruses from the next year. So I’d say the ‘arms race’ metaphor still applies.
@ Anton:
Influenza mutated into new strains every year for millions of years before flu vaccines were developed. The difference is that now you can avoid being infected by the most virulent strains.
Most infectious diseases do not mutate into new strains as regularly as influenza, so the same vaccines that protected people against them decades ago are still effective. And as BadRoad pointed out, vaccines have eradicated some diseases, such as smallpox. They’ve almost eradicated polio, and outbreaks of measles, mumps, rubella, diptheria, pertussis, and chicken pox are rare.
There’s also promising research underway to develop a more general influenza vaccine that would protect against the vast majority of strains for an extended period.
Many people under 40 fail to appreciate what a huge improvement vaccines have made because they never lived in a time when so-called “childhood diseases” were ubiquitous, and people had many children because some of them were likely to die before reaching adulthood.
I’ll just bet Landon has lots of fun with that tongue.
There seems to be some characters who are capable of bending the laws of physics.
Is that “condition”, one of her succubus-in-training abilities like the extending mouth-thing?
@ Anton:
I’d still say they work though, when was the last time you saw someone who had smallpox?
Has anyone here remembered yet that Larisa’s short lifespan is part of why she wants to enjoy her life in full?
I’m sorry, but I’m mentally hearing a song parody: “Don’cha wish your girlfriend had a tongue like me”
*shivers*
Landon is a lucky guy.
a reminder that Landon is/will be a lucky man

I think the joke is that Sandra assumes Larissa refers to her Wolfram Syndrom and means that the suger overloaded ice cream wouldn’t be good for her, whereas she actually refers to her being a Succubus in training. While I never saw Succubi depicted with oversized tongues, it would make sense for a demon of lust and we’ve seen extending lips on her when she uses her persuasive powers. Also, they are shape shifters, so even if the large tongue isn’t a fixed part of the package, she can make one to get more out of her one lick and to mess with Sandra.
Her descendancy from the snake is showing…
Seriously?
No one has made a “Landon’s a lucky guy” joke yet?
@ Aquatus1:
Landon’s really lucky
I don’t know what Sandra expected
That’s my fetish!
One lick can’t hurt, but it sure can disgust. Wet, slimy, thick extra wide tongues, will do it every time.
Double entendre… it’s more than a feeling…
AKA, induendo… “No buddy, inUendo!”
