If it is something that belongs in a porno mag, Sandra should not have been able to order it and her dad really should not try to forget it then since he has parenting to do. On the other hand, it has to be something bad enough to brain-bleach Richard this badly.

I don’t think it’s exactly that he thinks she’s innocent, I think it’s that he underestimated how not innocent she was, if I’m making sense. He probably didn’t expect her to want to get involved in “sexual activities”, at least not yet. I hope I’m making sense. Also Cloud got her the lingerie. I’ll stop now before I mix up my words too much.

I think it’s more Richard seeing the outfit and imagining the worse case situation where Sandra is going a lot further than she has any actual plans to do so-at least currently. He knows this is the start of her truly ‘growing up’ and he’s not really ready to face that.
Still fun to see Sandra and Cloud dance around each other, pushing the envelope just a little more every now and then to see what happens next. While the situation is fantastical, the underlying ‘boys and girls grow up’ is something that’s very true to life and is well done here, just in a slightly crazy way.

Self-deception is a common tool for parents. He told himself (most likely) she was too young but should know “just in case”. Many people practice it. Like the 6 beers isn’t drunk guy who drives home. Or the nobody will notice 1 missing thief. We believe what we want to believe, facts don’t enter into it.
At the risk of stirring trouble. assuming german sensibilities here, being raised around them. For me it boiled down to “Teenagers are going to do what teenagers have always done, just don’t be stupid about it.” Maybe it could have just been my parents, having been stationed at an Army base.

I’m firmly in the Richard camp, which is why I find Sandra in this situation arc so funny. We don’t know what type of costume, who the Richard-breaking costume is for, or if it’s a matching set of 2 and Sandra intends for Cloud to be the same dress size as her! I hope we get to see it. Whatever the next strip is, the strip after THAT is going to be on St Valentines Day! “Do not activate your Sandra in Expert Mode on Valentines Day without sufficient popcorn to watch the havoc!” 😀
A lot of the commenters on this series have the same issue as her dad. Unable to accept that 12-13 year old girls get horny, have sexual thoughts, and want the D/V.

I think Richard’s response is a lot like Cloud’s reaction to Ye Thuza. Cloud knows, in an intellectual way, that his parents have sex. His own existence proves that. He just didn’t want to know the details. Likewise, Richard knows that Sandra is growing up and having sexual thoughts and urges, but he’d prefer not to think about it too much. The fact that the details in both cases are a little kinky probably doesn’t help.
Why would that thought be “impure” – besides sex belonging in marriage, which most people don’t take seriously (sadly), Richard included ?

I think it’s open to interpretation if Richard actually put her on it, or was just showing her how it worked.
He might would rather give Sandra the knowledge how to protect herself later rather than not say anything and risk Sandra not having the knowledge or courage to come talk to him when she needed to the most.
Also, I can easily see him borrowing a set of pills from Ye Thuza since it was a coordinated ‘THE TALK’ since they both saw how close Cloud and Sandra were getting.

I don’t think a butler outfit would have really done anything for Sandra. Her kink isn’t submissive roles, it’s specifically seeing Cloud in a skirt. The deal was a fantasy for a fantasy, so Sandra should get her actual fantasy.

Lastly, regarding “age restriction on clothing”, society has all KINDS of mandates regarding what children can and cannot buy. Minor children are barred in most places from even having ACCESS to pornography or any sexually explicit materials and allowing a minor access is a felony in most places. This is why purchasing a bondage outfit or other similar sexual items or clothing usually requires that the buyer certify that they are 18 or older, so Sandra’s purchase was likely made through fraud. (which can also be a felony or misdemeanor… again depending on local laws)
Bearing in mind… this is just cartoon-land with talking animals and memory-removing brain surgeries… but it should be noted that even a DEPICTION of children below the age of consent engaging in actual sexual activity is illegal in most places as child porn… even if there’s a talking racoon in it.
Do I agree with the laws? Meh. Some yes… some no… but it’s not my call… in this case it would be Richard’s decision and based in what is legal in the place they live. (which is somewhere in the northeast… so there’s a wide range of probable laws being broken here) Even if some are dumber than dirt… illegal is still illegal. Don’t like it? Change the laws… if you can… or move to a place where the laws suit you. Just don’t try and preach to others how things should be in places you don’t live.
TL/DR: Sandra is 13 and therefore, given where they are, cannot have sex (even with Cloud) or access to sexual material without committing several felonies and Richard can face criminal charges if he lets her. Whether it should be that way or not… that’s just the way it is.

Compare Richard’s facial expression to Cloud’s, he got hit much harder. Compare that to the implied much lower reaction to Sandra’s sexy lingerie birthday present. Also, again, if it is something too bad, he can not afford to forget it.
That said, I’m suspecting his reaction was just exaggerated for the sake of funny, like a lot of animes have their characters overreact when a guy walks into a girl in a state of undress because it’s supposedly funny. I will maintain that some sort of comic logic is needed to justify Richard’s reaction.
