Here they are, the places 31 to 40 of this year’s artwork contest!
- Yuna: Darn, my perpetual motion machine is a total failure! It still consumes much more energy than it generates. I have no idea what else to try.
- Ye Thuza: Have you tried… I dunno… making it rotate counter-clockwise?
- Yuna: … Mommy, that’s–
- Ye Thuza: Stupid, I know. I won’t say–
- Yuna: INGENIOUS!
- Ye Thuza: — Wait, what?

A corollary of the infamous “sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” quote, should be “a sufficiently advanced generator is indistinguishable from a perpetual motion machine”
I’d better see a huge technobabble explanation of why it will work on Monday. That or a hilarious intermission.
Ah yes, the benefits of being able to talk to someone. Lack of knowledge in a subject doesn’t stop a person from giving valuable ideas. How this ends up affecting things I’m interested to see.
By changing the direction the rotational energy changes from negative to positive, which causes net energy gain. Or at least I think that’s how magic works.
Somehow I feel like she’s gonna breach the 4th wall in the next comic.
reverse the polarity!
*Gets ready to dodge incoming perpetual rear kicker.
Uhmm coriolis? I dunno what else to say to be honest.
Ye Thuza is already prepared to teach Potions at Hogwarts.
@ oledakaajel:
No, no you see, when you reverse polarity, the energy differential between strong and weak forces becomes /negative/ which multiplied with the also negative differential between the centrifugal force and gravity, makes a /positive/ output.
If you go around to the other side of it, it’s already running counter clockwise. But I’ll look forward to whatever insanity results.
It already was rotating counter clock wise in the first panel.
Well, the trick with perpetual motion machines is to hide where the energy they consume is coming from. Not sure how reversing the rotation manages that…but then, this is clearly not about actual physics.

No, see, it was a rear kicker when it spun clockwise. Counterclockwise, it’ll be a gut puncher.
That’s definitely how physics works.

If it were anyone but Yuna, I would suggest they fake a perpetual motion machine by drawing energy from the Earth’s rotation and/or tidal forces.
In Yuna’s case I would caution her not to accidentally reproduce the conditions that caused the big bang, as that much additional matter and energy would be very difficult to contain..
REVERSE-SPANKING!!!
If they’re in the northern hemisphere, counter-clockwise should work.
In Young Frankenstein, the trick to creating the monster was change the negative terminal to positive and the positive to terminal, so there’s precedent!
(But will Ye Thuza accept Yuna’s creating life? . . . . Probably, but I see her grounding Yuna if she starts screaming IT’S ALIVE! ALIVE!)
@ demarion:
Lots of precedent! It’s an entire trope in and of itself. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ReversePolarity
It is not my first time to go to see this web site, i am browsing this web site dailly and obtain pleasant data from
here all the time.
