Here’s my review of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
- Novil: They said it was impossible to write 100 strips about Final Fantasy VII Remake.
- Novil: … Fools!
- Novil: What I actually wanted to say: The Richard – Hitomi story line will resume with no further delay!
- Hitomi: Hitomi knows what readers want!

– There is no Strip

Much better.
Wrong costume Hitomi, wrong costume… Nekomimi is so much more moe! Nekomimi wa sugoi!
*falls out of chair laughing*
I’m really warming to Hitomi… Can’t wait to see how she and the rest of the cast get on together.
Hitomi hit him so hard his desk and chair teleported to the void…
I like her
Here’s my review of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
That third panel was not the face of mercy
Putting the ‘Hit’ in ‘Hitomi’.
I demand to see those scripts.
*Insert Bart Simpson Hitting Homer Pic Here*
Ooooh! The little lady’s got top billing.
Give im’ tha chair! From the top rope!
(Pro Wrestling is popular in exactly two countries; United States and Japan.)
I wholeheartedly agree with her. Back to the real story. Enough sidetracking.
Signs that your cat is plotting to murder you.
Hitomi certainly does!
I wasn’t sure on which side of the Richard/Hitomi ship to stand but after this strip, I have become a supported.
Richard needs a girl that can defend him against the whims of his writer 😉
“THE CHAIR! GIVE ‘IM THE CHAIR!!”
My only issue is the choice of sound effect.
‘Bonk’ doesn’t quite give enough of a visceral representation of getting bashed over the head with a folding chair…
I understood that reference.
Finally back on track, but it is not enough!! Daily Richard and Hitomi strip for a week 😀 That must be minimum compensation for keeping us hanging.
Who is with me? : )
@ Mr. Mike:
Agreed. BANG or CRASH convey the much more metallic sound you are likely to get out of a chair of that make.
Anyways, back to the plotlines I care about. I have let to really have an interest in FF at all, and I see no reason to today. Catlady talking like a khahiit, much closer to what I can understand and grasp.
“While you were having fun, I was studying the way of the chair.” – Hitomi, April 30th 2020.
Honestly, that third panel might be panel of the year up until now.
@ Deane A Gainey:
You don’t consider lucha libre to be wrestling?
WRONG! Readers want more Final Fantasy.
Why…yes. Yes, Hitomi does know what we readers want! 🙂
Pointing in the air and talking while lying facedown is very Garfield. 😀
A beautiful smashing of the 4th wall and authorial concession. Though I confess I haven’t played FF7 and was intrigued by these comics to seek the original game (perhaps emulated?) and feel for Novil, I’m also glad since this arc about Hitomi is giving me fond memory of meeting my own wife, Jiyu. She would not necessarily want to be compared to Japanese but eh. She can call me French in return.
Oh and that looks like a plastic chair used at the school I work for. Bonk works for that rather better than other effects.
Oooooh, Hitomi, or is it Hit-omi, can be sneaky.
I’m starting to like her more and more.
On with her story-line.
Plz gib panel 3 without Novil
I want that face, chair and upper body as a reaction image to go alongside the circular OOOOOOHHHH!!!!
Potentially with the JoJo Menacing effects pasted on top
Oh, right. This is the alternative. Hitomi. Yay. Oh joy.
Ah, the folding chair. A literary classic!
@ swatmajor1:
I’m also impressed by the quality of his sunglasses. He was hit hard enough to banish both desk and chair, AND he did a full faceplant into the floor, yet they appear unbroken (they weren’t even dislodged from their usual position). I’d ask where he got them, but I’m sure I couldn’t afford a pair.
Is this comic even about ‘Sandra and Woo’ anymore? I can’t remember when I saw the last story with Sandra AND WOO (in contrary to ‘Sandra and various school friends’ or ‘Just various School friends without Sandra’… and Gawd knows when any of the other forest animals had a storyline…
@ Yellow:
Do you expect a comic that is this old and ongoing with almost no break releasing twice a week to be about only two characters all the time without getting boring?
Huh…well even if Richard and her don’t jock up
she better become a series regular character.

Oh, that’s good.
I love her.
Hitomi is the waifu the readers deserve!
A champion of the people!
FAKE! IT’S ALL FAKE! There’s not even the TINIEST dent in that chair!

Making it about obscure Japanese comics and video games has made it much more boring much more quickly.
There doesn’t even seem to be a coherent storyline. Why is Richard in Japan at all? How does he know any of these characters? Why does Hitomi, who is apparently an FF fan, suddenly hit someone over the head for writing about FF?
Thank you for making me smile and laugh while being cooped up
Even when you’re not writing about FF7, I feel the Don Corneo outfit on the dad, with the chair smash like what Aerith did in the game, are still clever ways to say that this panel still has FF7 elements to it
Or I might just be reading too much into this. I loved the game personally
More and more I like this Hitomi! (Most readers aren’t old enough to catch this reference to an old Danny Kaye film. Look up ‘Me and the Colonel’)
The most meta of meta strips

Um, pretty sure wrasslin’ is also quite popular in Mexico, Canada and the UK, just to start the list. Wrestling is one of humanity’s oldest sports, and the modern professional version attracts fans all over the world.
@ Wizard:
My understanding is that pro-wrestling is quite popular in central and south America.
I still maintain what I said, but I do not support violence.
-Great strip Novil-
Hmm, considering our past experiences, I’m wondering if this is not bait leading to more FFVII remakes strips. Can’t trust Novil to avoid a perfectly fine trolling opportunity

You couldn’t. You can’t buy them anywhere on Earth yet. Granted, Sydney Scoville got them for free, but she’s also superhero and she wasn’t on Earth at that time.
