- Sandra: Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!
- Woo: In what way?
- Sandra: A heinous crime has been committed!
- Woo: What kind of crime?
- Sandra: I don’t know yet. But I can feel it! And I will not only find out what happened, but also who is responsible for it!
- Sandy South: This will be a piece of cake for Sandy South, private eye extraordinaire!
- Qoo: Good thing I still have my tin foil hat…

Looks promising! And it can only do Zoey good to have to wait a bit with her arc and train her patience. 🙂
It’s about time we get to see the return of Sandy South! Looking forward to this arc.
Why an aluminum hat? Is it supposed to be tin foil hat, even though tin foil is really aluminum?
I like how the character names change in the transcript.
Possibly a Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson) reference or a cultural difference?@ Timothy J. Warren:

In German “tin foil” is call “Alufolie” which is “Aluminium Foil”. So the tin foil hat is “aluminium foil hat”
So, what were they playing in the previous strip?

I wanted to change it before publication, but I’ve had big trouble with establishing FTP connections to my web space and haven’t been able to exchange the file yet.
So, why were comments off on the previous strip?
@ BananaBoi:
I’d assume because it impacts the current plot arc in some way.
@ Novil:
Dang it. I was really excited for a moment thinking it was a Mistborn reference.
I thought it was supposed to be lead lined?
http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2015/11/19/0737-under-a-killer-balloon-the-cereal-killer-page-15/
Of course, considering that the comic states it’s aluminium, and the transcript states it’s tin foil…
So which is it?
Sn, Al, or Pb?
Or an alloy of all 3?
Thisguy wrote:
It’s lead. But “tin foil hat” is the appropriate colloquial term for it in this case.
@ Novil:
Ah, cheers 🙂
@ Novil:
Amusingly, a tin-foil hat (really the thin aluminum sheets used in cooking) is, in the U.S., supposed to prevent alien spy-rays from reading or affecting your mind. 🙂
So what’s the reason of the comment section missing for the previous strip ?
The queen of hearts is looking for her tarts!
And everyone asking why the comments section was closed: It obviously isn’t “later” yet!
All right! Now to find a crime. In this year, that may be harder then first expected. There’s a lot of wreckage that doesn’t involve a crime.
Oh boy! more killer ballon!

Same properties are attributed to the German „Aluhut“ – not even limited to aliens, but including purely terrestrial conspiracy theories or any sufficiently nerdy ideas… :o)
follow Arnold Schwarzenegger as he does some cleanup
@ BananaBoi:
It may have something to do with the fact that the previous strip is clearly a reference to the Phoebe And Her Unicorn webcomic: https://www.gocomics.com/phoebe-and-her-unicorn/2012/05/06
The crime might be coming up in 2 weeks time….
[ducks behind concrete pillar]
@ Timothy J. Warren:
I liked “aluminium” as it left the pun of Woo being Sandra’s foil unspoken 🙂
A older German term for “Alu-Folie” is “Stanniol(-Papier)”, which becomes less common used, nowadays. “Stanniol” described originally a foil of an alloy of lead and silver; later it was used as a term for tin foil, only. When tin was substituted by aluminium after WW2 the term transfered to aluminium-foil.
I wonder if Sandra is referring to the stuff going on with Peter Madsen?
Tin foiled hats are very much in demand right now.
@ Rhetor
@Rhetor Oh, that makes sense.
I would like to begin a civil and interesting discussion on the capitalisation of the preposition in the title after the colon:
https://xkcd.com/1167/
@ doclbn:
You are right of course, for here too. I should have worded that a little more broadly. The “Tin Foil Hat” is pretty much commonly used in referring to brain protection from intruders, or intruding brain-wave deflection from from ridiculous input from most anywhere. 🙂
Now, watch Hitomi come out of nowhere, and stop her and Woo…. 😆
I can confirm that aluminum foil is exceptionally good at blocking signals in the 800-2500 MHz range, but only moderately effective at blocking signals in the 300 GHz->430THz range. It’s quite effective at blocking signals in the 400-700 THz range too.

And I though it has something to do with a misconception that if you close discussion under comics you prevent discussion ABOUT that comic.

Breaking news. Due to corona all alcohol after 10pm is forbidden in Denmark

What is it that uses those frequencies tin foil blocks well?
We are so bombarded with so many radio and microwaves on a 24hr/7day basis that I’ve sometimes wondered if it might be a good idea to try and block most of them from the house. ….of course, that would mean a need for external antennas for tv, radio, and phone. 🙂 🙂 🙂

If anyone actually believes that, alien spy-rays could only improve things…
There actually is something rotten in the country of Denmark.
Mainly a lot of sexism complaints about a politician a man who placed his hand or a woman´s thigh i 2015.
It has erupted into a huge scandal for a party that show themselves as being whiter than white.
Also very conveniently nobody has mentioned that in 2016,17 and 18 there are several pictures on the woman´s profile of her lovingly leaning up against the man who was sexist against her.
… yeah there is something rotten indeed.
HI. I saw that the comment section in the previous strip was closed. Just curious as to why.
BTW, was that the famous Konami cheat code I saw in the second to last panel?
MORE OF CLOUD AND SANDRA PLZ!!!!!
