I see the relationship between the first and last panel, and it makes the last panel very heart warming, but I dont get the middle panel about the repenting.
Happy Hanuka!!!
Merry Christmas!!!
Happy Equinox!!!
19 down, so far so good.
I like how this is going. how to read more.
Merry christmas =)
“see the relationship between the first and last panel, and it makes the last panel very heart warming, but I dont get the middle panel about the repenting.”
Well, if you look at the first panel you’ll see the ‘economy is in ruins’ sign, talking about the current situation of the economy. In the second panel, we have a religious doomsayer saying the end is nigh, also referring to the problems in the economy. The last panel is basically saying ‘screw the economy, it’s Christmas and we’re going to celebrate it!’
And I wholeheartedly agree. Merry Christmas people!

Thanks for the clarification!
There arent usually curve side preachers where I live.
Sure, I’ll say it. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I gots da stuv, and it was fun. plus, I think we visited family here in town… I know my aunt and uncle, then there were people that I didn’t know that said they knew me when I was a baby… so I’ll consider them family… I guess…
@CS88: “Equinox”? I think you mean “solstice.”
If you look real close at the second panel, at the sign he holds, it’s an eagle. Global warming and all that, endangered animals (Woo has some worries too!)
I can see an eagle flying right to left, or a polar bear running left to right.
“The end” sure is taking its time…
You know, it’s really late for this, but I’d like to mention:
“Repent, for their end is near!” sounds like it should be “the”, instead of “their”. “Repent, for the end is near!” I dunno if this was a mistake or I’m missing a gag, but whatevs.
And yes, very heart-warming and great comic overall.
Why does somebody always point out a flaw in the speech bubbles in every comic?
If you took more time to enjoy the comic you wouldnt notice that!
It’s because we are nerds and have no life.
Love this 🙂
A PIPE!!!!!! HE SMOKES A PIPE!!!!! SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I shouldn’t be freaking out about this like a fangirl, because I’m Mormon, but I mean, COME ON, ISSA PIPE!!!!!
@ Squidj:

uh that predicted the 2012 cristmas…
Hi!
This is the future calling!
I remember that, at the time this strip was written, things were really on the skids — and there was the very real possibility of a second Great Depression.
As it was, there were a number of fairly grim years there — we called it the “Great Recession.”
But now, it’s almost eight years later, and the German and US economies are going gangbusters.
And though there were, and.still are, way too many people hurting, the Powers That Be did, for the most part, a pretty amazing job of saving us from going into the abyss.
So everything’s going to turn out more or less okay… Eventually.
Those of us in the States, of course, still owe you all an apology.
You thought GWB was bad?
Wait til you see this guy “Trump” we’ve got waiting to spring on y’all.
Cheers!
Alas, Christmas is one of the final weeks before the season of feasting is over, and all the humans start going on “diets.” I suspect this is actually because they are afraid of being eaten if they don’t slim down.
