[0034] Woo Jumps To A Conclusion
└ posted on Monday, 16 February 2009, by Novil
- Woo: What’s wrong with me? I’m feeling all woozy, yet ready to tear up a wolf…
- Shadow: Hmm, this sounds like mating season has begun.
- Woo: Oh, now I see… Do you think I’ll find a nice girl?
- Shadow: I dunno. Are you in good shape? Male raccoons often have to wander more than ten miles a night to come around the females in their territory.
- Woo: …… You know, the whole mating stuff is probably overrated.
- Woo: … I stand corrected.
You were’nt joking when you said you wanted to make it less PG.
I’d say it’s for most ages. It’s cool, especially this strip! 😀
argh, I commented in the wrong spot again.
This strip just became far, far more interesting.
Unless you intend showing the actual act, your characters can still remain in the PG-mode. The idea of sexuality isn’t as taboo as it would have been just a mere ten or fifteen years ago.
I found the strip both cute and a bit comic. Kind of a nature virsion of an old “Star Trek” version. Thought the love interest had just enough of a feminine figure to be distinctive when close to Woo. Her hesitation in panel eight, Woo’s expression, and the fox’s disinterest was a perfect mixture.
If I had to make any suggestions, it would be to have the lady continue through the frame WITHOUT noticing Woo. It would have worked as a great set-up for their next encounter. (Playing hard to get?) Lots of possible story lines can be developed from just this one strip.
Let’s see what woo can do 😮
Huh… how old is Woo anyway? Somehow I was under the impression that he’s old enough to have gone through this already
Naaa…this doesn’t drop the PG notion one bit. I mean, Over The Hedge has gone further with their nearly full breasted versions of the female counterparts.
Actually, given the “hint” from an earlier comic, I was rather relieved to see Woo going this route with his own species. That “hint” might truly have bypassed PG notions, altogether.
helllooooooo nurse 😀
She’s only after him for his car.
“Actually, given the “hint” from an earlier comic, I was rather relieved to see Woo going this route with his own species. That “hint” might truly have bypassed PG notions, altogether.”
Do note that one of the things he noted as a screwup was the the charmed young lady was not a member of his own species. Coincidentally, that strip is also where I apparently got the impression that this isn’t his first mating season: He was aware what it was afterall.
“Coincidentally, that strip is also where I apparently got the impression that this isn’t his first mating season: He was aware what it was afterall.”
Just to clarify: This is his first mating season.
Hehe, nice twist there. This should prove to be an interesting plotline.
Love is in the air! Hopefully the season isn’t too hard on Woo – 🙂
It’s definitely raccoon mating season! I caught 2 courting each other a few weeks ago – normally they’re kind of reserved around each other when there’s more than one around, but the couple was a lot more intimate with each other, chittering to one another and posturing to each other… love is definitely in the air! 🙂
So trying to make it less PG. XD. Good, really good.
Added to favorites.
Her design reminds me a little of Mademoiselle Hepzibah from “Pogo.”
Ah… but what a conclusion to jump to, huh Woo
Woo: “WOO!”
Go get’m tiger;-)
Woo reminds me of my first few weeks at college. I had normal eighteen year old hormones, I wanted to stay away from girls for at least the first semester. Two weeks into the school year I was engaged.
Go for it Woo!!!
Wow, what do you think Sandra wud think if she saw him hitting?
@Matty: That depends on her maturity and understanding of the birds and the bees. She might be puzzled. She might say, “Eww.” She might find it cute. Or she might shrug and let him go about his business.
He “stands” corrected…
*cough cough*
Well now, this should be an interesting plot development. New cast member or just a cameo?
Woo: What’s wrong with me? I’m feeling all woozy, yet ready to tear up a wolf…
Sounds like rabies to me. Better not kiss anyone.
I blame Burt Raccoon’s show for getting me interested in these raccoon chicks.
They seem to have a lot in common ^^
And thus we enter the mandatory valentine’s day romance storyline. I was wondering when we’d get to that.
Woo: i stand corrected!
Me: Dragoll, if you even grunt, i told you so, ill make sure you wont be able to fly.
Dragoll: fine.
Hahah, i can totally imagine the scrubs song when Woo sees the girl. You know that one that plays every time a girl does something sexy
I like the way the characters were drawn against the tree. Very reminiscent to Calvin and Hobbes.
Heh. We had a tree in our front yard that was a bachelor pad – five male raccoons shared it. Having them around was entertaining, except I swear they used to go bowling late at night on our roof, which was not at all restful.
@ Spacecadet:
‘ells Ya! 😉 Awwwwww yyyyeeeeeaaaahhh!!
Oooh, young love! This comic just got more interesting!
Practically the only difference between them is posture and the suggestion of eyelashes.
Funny that it is generally enough for most people to be utterly convinced.
Question is… what would a transexual raccoon look like?
Just hope Woo’s got the basics done this time.
Let’s see if Woo can woo 🙂
Its not much more than a g rating really. Cartoons like animaniacs got away with it, As did Disney, and the sonic archie comics.

If I know what you mean. I do 😉
Ah yes, boy sees girl, boy meets girl, boy claims girl has cooties, boy pelts girl with water balloons. Girl tattles on boy then invites me to a tea party.
@ WoW Paladin:
We know Woo is an upright fellow.
