- Sandra: Daddy, I cut myself by accident. I better go see a doctor about it.
- Richard: Huh? Let’s see!
- Richard: So where exactly did you cut yourself?
- Sandra: There!
- Richard: Yes, a couple of skin cells seem to be damaged. But for the necessary microscopic examination to come to a final conclusion, we would have to take a tissue sample first.
- Sandra: I also have a terrible headache and I can’t–
- Richard: School, right now!

Oh Richard, your detective skills are almost as pathetic as Sandra’s deception. Everyone knows that the top layer of skin is composed of “dead” cells so of course they’ll all be damaged.
And if it’s enough that he could shrug it off without even telling Sandra to put on a band-aid, I think it’s too little too late Sandra, go to school and fail that test gloriously. Who knows? Maybe that raccoon lycanthropy (Procyonthropy?) a few commenters suggested in the last strip will come to your rescue. 😛
I hope they have medics at her school.
Sandra needs to work a little on her theatrical skills. That pose in panel four was a clear giveaway that she is playing the part.
So will the next arc be Sandra and Woo on stage? With Cloud as Souffleur and Larisa responsible for the special effects?
Sandra: But damaged skin cells can lead to skin cancer! My headache could be brain cancer!
Richard: Your allowance could be stopped.
Sandra: I could die at school for all you- (slams front door)
Richard: (sighs) Sometimes it’s just too easy.
So Sandra school is just one fourth wall jump away? well, that sucks.
also it seems like Woo is wise enough to gave her a lite bite.
Whew. I’m glad this didn’t go in a “Well, I guess we’ll have to have Woo put down” direction. ^__^;;
Yeah, nice try. Richard obviously has done this before. Of course it stands to reason he can be just as sly as Sandra if he wants. It’s probably where Sandra herself gets it from, hmm? 🙂
I enjoyed what you did in the final panel. I got a kick out of Sandra’s dramatic acting and her fathers hand pointing beyond the frame.
*sigh of relief (for Woo at least!)

Oh, I dunno… As long as -we- knew Richard wasn’t really going to do anything serious, it might have been a good way for him to teach Sandra a little something about making irresponsible statements about innocent people.
Hmm I wonder what Richard would do if explained the situation properly…
I mean Sandra has made an honest mistake in forgetting this test,
Going to the test WITHOUT any preparation is obviously going to get her a BIG fail.
This is not good in any way or shape AND it is going to affect her school career, so it may be the smart thing to keep her at home, make her study for the test while “punishing” her as if she failed the test.
Overdid it juuuust a little, Sandra.
Not sure if this is where to comment about the Topwebcomics voting incentive but…
hey folks, VOTE! Our favorite firebug is channelling Calvin (in what might be taken as a rather risque manner, if you have a sufficiently dirty mind…)
Well, that was certainly effective.
Time for Plan B: Time Travel.
You know its serious when Richard breaks the 4th wall.
Gorsh.
*Looks to the right of the monitor. Yep textbooks and printer ^^
I’m confused as to why Sandra didn’t tell her dad it was Woo who bit her. Couldn’t she be at risk for rabies?
And in the time it took her to pull off this ruse, she could have studied.
Well.. perhaps “Dad… your are going to be granddad” would have better results 😀 maybe next time…
well i don’t think he could be convinced woo has rabies. he had his rabies shot in a previous comic
Sandra, it’s a cut. Did you really think it would work? And now it blew up in your face because your dad knows you don’t want to go. XD
That “headache” bit might fly with a wife, but not so much with daughters–especially during a big test. She might have had more success if she had feinted major “womanly problems,” as most dads hate thinking about it… Then again, he is not like most dads. =P
@ Paeris Kiran:
isn’t she, like, twelve?
Richard: “Never mind the fact that you’re foaming at the mouth. Get to school!”
Oh,how this brings back memories. Granted,I didn’t try to fake sick as much as the other kids, but still,it would be horrifying if the parent found out.

Sly? This is how you’re describing the girl who thinks she can get away with skipping school based on a pinprick and a (horrendously fake looking) headache?
