is this your way of saying that you are on “vacation” for some time to come and we shouldn’t expect a comic?

No.
Next week should continue with 3 more of the last two frames lol
Fans now write the series!

Feels like a wasted opportunity to get some rest, if you ask me.
I fully expect the next strip to be four more panels of nothing.
*Grins. One law of unintended consequences made to order. Serves all involved.
If ever running short on material there’s always room for comics about the comment posting rules in hilarious caricature with examples of good/bad ideas.
@ Titan:
See, we tried that with Homestuck in the beginning, and Homestuck^2 in it’s entirety, but I think the general consensus is that it was a colossal mistake.
Maybe they can reach a compromise? They could allow Novil to draw Sandra and Woo on Mondays and Thursdays while the rest of the week he has to stay in jail, pondering his misdeeds?
They seemed to have had a slight case of “didn’t think that thru”.
Sandra: “Okay, mister, here’s the deal: You get out once a week to draw Sandra and Woo and afterwards it’s back to jail!”
Novil (sitting in jail, smirking): “No.”
Sandra: …
Novil: …
Sandra: “Twice a week.”
Novil: “Deal.”
@ Ravy:
Yeah, but it was done for Problem Sleuth in its entirety (or almost) and it was incredible.
Hope Novil has been allowed his phone call – to Powree, gibbering out ideas for the next few strips?
Also: is there a German compound word for cartoon characters who devise the scripts which they then act out (I suspect not). Getting into Duck Amuck territory (although that might get Novil a longer stretch).h
Writers strike!
@ persia:
But there is a word for illegal letters from or to prisoners: »Kassiber«
This is how »Novil« will have to send his scripts to the actors in the near future. I’m expecting funny typos to come… 🙂
And user suggestions began…
X: Sandra, call up Cloud for a date!
y: Ascend to Godhood!
↳ A: Fondly regard creation.
↳ Q: Mess with Picard
zzz: You're on a bed, take a nap and enter the dream realm.
can we plz have more of sandra and cloud….also can u plzz do more than just 2 strips a week! its TOURTURREEEE
So… who has figured out the steganography inherent in the differences between the final two panels? I mean, that has to be the reason they aren’t 100% identical, right?
By the way, the CYOA enthusiasts of fan-written comics should recall the cautionary tale that is Bard Quest.
@ mikey:
yes more more more more of sandy and cloud!!!!! plzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzPLZplzPLZplzPLzplz
🙂
Shouldn’t this also have repercussions in Gaia? I believe we did have an occurance of similar connections already, didn`t we?
Maybe it’s time to introduce a fictionalised version of Powree? {evil grin}
There is literally no way in hell this could ever backfire… right?
For no other reason than that execrable jacket, Novil deserves *at least* a month in Durance Vile.
Next I’m imagining something like:
– A commentary on the attack on the capital. If not that or anything real life related,
– Messy divorce between David and Ye Thuza.
– Sandra cheating on Cloud.
– Landon falling in with a street gang.
This had better not be some weird metafictional way of ending the comic, because if it is, I’ll stop reading it!
Though, I am likely to continue rereading as long as the archived strips are online.
It’s about time for Hitomi to answer Richards question, I think.
@ Nimz:
Yes, the two panels differ.
There are motion lines in the first of the two — unlikely to be steganography, but possibly.
The random-looking shading on the wall differs in detail. Perhaps a message is encoded in the line lengths?
@ Antiyonder:
NO! sandra CAN NOT cheat on cloud! NEVER LET THAR HAPPEN MR. WRITER! NEVER!
more of sandra and cloud plzzzz

Kidding and I hope I’m wrong. Just that with exception, the stripes been heavy on the cynicism for a long time now.
@ Novil:
Are you going to make Larissa a teenage parent due to her genetic disease?
I wish the Simpsons get a reboot-sequel set 25 years later. Humanity has futuristic tech and the cast of Futurama is present
Do you plan on doing a sequel-reboot-fastforward for this webcomic?
Novil’s behind bars (or at least his Author Avatar for that world is) and isn’t setting the story in motion, that can’t be good. Hopefully this will get resolved by Sandra and Woo getting Novil out of jail, if not then Powree can take over in the mean time to prevent the end of their universe.
Listen Sandy and Woo, he may have been writing you and your friends into various hardships and humiliations such as your darker parts if your backstories, facing cults and tribes who wished to sacrifice you to their gods, the storyline that ended up with one of Woo’s kits getting impaled, that time Woo liked Youtube videos of Raccoon porn on your account, and the time Woo shredded your clothes and left you just standing there in nothing but your heart print panties… What was I going on about? Oh, right! Despite the hardships Novil’s written you going through, he’s also responsible for making the strips with you going through happy adventures and events with happy endings. You may be mad at him for the conflict he’s written you in, but that is something he has no control over to a degree, writers can’t create stories without any conflict (same thing goes for life in general) but he has given you moments of joy, love, laughter, and happiness. Just keep this in mind
And Novil, next time you choose to reference another person’s work in your comics, don’t plagiarize them, for the love of Pete! Given them credit where credit’s due, which is everywhere. Do this again and we’ll all be coming for you… with the nine iron, batons, torches, pitchforks, and other assorted weapons and torture devices.

All meta jokes aside I don’t know. Unless a story is suppose to be pitch black in tone (Watchmen, Berserk, Breaking Bad, etc), I don’t think it’s out of place to expect at least 40-50 percent lightened/optimistic moments.
I don’t know. Just seems that after the first few pages of 2018 the overall tone feels more like 90-95% cynical, 5-10% uplifting.
i noticed that uhhh zoie (i think thats her name) said she was born in 1070….umm but thats older than my mom and yet she looks like a middle schooler….
also plz plz plz add more of sandy and cloud!!!
oh no! The author! lmaoooo

That would be a while.
I just finished reading a web comic I thought was brand new (Strong Female Protagonist).
I got “caught up” and decided to comment.
I then realized the last comment/post was five years ago.
@ Hendrik Boom:
There are some other subtle differences: Woo’s tail moved, the folds of Sandra’s clothes lie differently (and the stripe is different), the shadow under Sandra’s right hand vanished, the line thickness of Woo’s chest hairs are thicker in the second panel…. Probably others.
its thursday! why is there no new strip?
Magellan’s Master Assassin is so jealous right now! that and screaming about wasted opportunities.
Daniel Holm wrote:
Yes, but it makes sense. They are there, but are totally passive since there is no plot for as long as the author is in prison. On the other hand, it ought to be in his power to create a plot where S&W liberates him…?
ok its friday now and no new strip…..why? and can we see/ have more of sandra and cloud! please!
@ mikey:
nvm
@ Novil:
It would be a fun way to do it, as long as you put an extra comment on the end for those slower thinking readers, who wasn’t able to take your hint.
