That’s really cool that the plot point of the protective shield was set up *this* far in advance 😀 That’s some good story construction right there.

That’s a pretty obscure “spoiler” for a page with this penultimate panel!
I have read Gaia before, and when I got to The Way Home, I didn’t know who Arty was. The *spoiler* is actually very informative for a part of the story that I never understood. *SPOILER AHEAD*(sort of) Arty is not shown the same as he is in these early comics, so that’s why I never made the connection.
Addition to my previous comment: Vivi’s parents play a crucial role in the later half of the story. Her parentage is the reason for her want for justice in Ileasaar. It also is her main reason for Lilith’s abilities.
