My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:It was clear to me that both Lilith and Viviana needed the ability to fly in the next chapter, The Door. I initially planned to give Viviana’s new legs the ability of flight. This feature would have been shown to her by Ilias once she had mastered walking with them. But then I had the more original idea with the Twin Crystal. As an immediate effect of the Great Tree’s fall, portals can now be used in Greendew. Since the exact role of the Great Tree regarding the connection of the planet with the Source was unknown, the people are unsure about the impact of the tree’s destruction. So far, no negative effects have been observed. Maybe the Great Tree was more a symbol than a central element of Gaia’s spirit system.

I suspect that having an adventurer-Queen is going to be hard on many people’s nerves… The unpredictability, showing up without the usual buffer of intermediaries to minimize shocks and misunderstandings, etc. (High ranking people, if they do their job well, accomplish a lot just by shielding their staff from any roughness coming down the chain of authority. Not countermanding it or blocking it; but rather by smoothing it over and framing it in a way that their people understand.
