It’s time to present the submissions placed between the positions 13 and 25 of the Sandra and Woo and Gaia fanart contest 2014. As you can see below, all of them are great pieces of art that would have deserved to be in the top 12. I’m super happy to have received so many fantastic and diverse entries again! Also don’t miss to check out the first batch of submissions which I posted last Thursday.
The submissions are ordered alphabetically. Please show your support by visiting the artists’ websites and writing a comment in the comment section of this blog post!

Our yearly Sandra and Woo and Gaia fanart contest was once again a huge success! We even received more submissions than last year, 68 pieces of artwork in total! Because of that I decided to present all drawings in three separate updates. On Sunday, 6 July 2014, I will post the submissions that reached the places 25 to 13. On Wednesday, 9 July 2014, I will present the top 12, including the six winners of prize money. I can already promise that the drawing of this year’s main winner is absolutely breath-taking! 🙂 I hope that none of the artists listed below is sad that he didn’t make it into the top 6. There’ll be another chance next year and I may also introduce two special awards for the funniest resp. the most innovative submission.
The following submissions are ordered alphabetically. The artists’ names are colored red if a link to their personal website is available. Show your support by visiting the artists’ websites and/or writing a comment in the comment section of this blog post!

There’s one week left to submit your entries for our fanart contest 2014. And there’s still a good chance to become one of the six winners even if your drawing skills aren’t that great if you have a funny or clever idea.

Bill Watterson has drawn three guest comics for Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis. You can find the three strips at GoComics:
They are part of a longer story arc which also includes the strips posted on 2 June 2014, 3 June 2014 and 7 June 2014 (you should not miss this one). We can only hope to see more of Bill Watterson’s art in the future. He seems to have become a little less reclusive lately. Stephan Pastis writes more about the guest comics in this blog post.

It’s time for our yearly Sandra and Woo and Gaia fanart contest! Click here to see the winners of the fanart contests 2011, 2012, and 2013. Unsurprisingly, your drawing has to feature at least one regular character from Sandra and Woo or Gaia.
Unlike most other such contests, ours comes with some nice cash prizes for the six winners whom I will pick from all contestants. As you can see, not only the best entry will receive a nice sum of money. If your drawing skills are below average, you will still have the chance to win something by drawing something funny, clever or innovative.
- 1st place: $150
- 2nd place: $125
- 3rd place: $100
- 4th place: $75
- 5th place: $50
- 6th place: $25
Please send your entry in an e-mail with the subject “Fanart contest 2014” to novil@gmx.de. You can attach the file to the e-mail or put a link to it in the e-mail’s text body. You must submit your entry until Monday, 30 June 2014. If you have a website, please add a link to it in your e-mail as well.
Additional information about the contest:
- You can submit several drawings or other types of art, but you can win at most two prizes. In this case, the first winning entry has to feature characters from Sandra and Woo and the second winning entry has to feature characters from Gaia.
- You are allowed, even encouraged, to post your artwork on other websites.
- After presenting all entries in one or more blog posts, they will be put into the fanart section of our Artwork page.
- You can sign your work in any way you want. But a large, ugly watermark will reduce your chance of winning.
- If you draw the image digitally, you should send it in its original size in a lossless format, for example as a PNG file with full color depth. If you draw the image on paper, you should send me a large, clean version in a lossless format, for example as a PNG file with full color depth. However, don’t send me any files larger than 20 MB.
