I know that Tibor’s answer is meant as “I’d never abandon you.”, or “I’d never abandon you until you’re over the death of Julius.” but it comes off as half a romantic answer. Hey, Tibbles struck out with Viola, but Scarlet is single. Granted, part of that is a hope for “suddenly, the romantic moment is interrupted”. It’s too unlikely that there’s a cave under the estate for either another Machine, or Grondians, but if Scarlet isn’t wandering the grounds planting beets then the plot will have to come to her.
