A rope taken out of a bag near a tree branch never bodes well… D:
Graybeard
Does the “Shardyk” name hint that there are humanoid bears somewhere on this planet?
Andreas
or it is a Cameo of Ken Shardik and it is going to get really wild ^ ^

Weird place to jump rope, but ok…

Oh NO. Tibor please I’ve started to like you, don’t go ; A;

Suddenly, I feel like this is taking a very dark turn…

Often the sharper the turn needed to take into comedy, means the better the punchline constructed.
After all, who needs to keep paying for a hotel room when you have a hammock? And a fight between Tibor and a kite eating tree sounds like just the sort of thing to end pleasantly- assuming Mr Tibbles still has his laser gun.
The only downside of this is that Scarlet isn’t going to get that golden-fox fur coat (and stew) that she deserved. All those beets pulled, and no meat for her.
Glenn Webster
That seems like a sensible decision.

He didn’t bring a chair. What’s he gonna do, climb the tree? Tibor can’t even die in comfort, and it’s his own fault.
Crystalgate
If he’s planning on suicide, he’s not going to fear Marik anymore, so that letter can contain anything.
HKMaly
I don’t think he can PROVE anything.
Vicious Sand
The cops can’t prove in count that Marik had a lot of stolen goods.
Marik can’t prove in court that the police were justified in breaking into Location X and taking all those stolen goods that he didn’t know that he had.
Crystalgate
Marik’s comment makes it clear that he is not immune against trouble from the guards. If the letter confesses what happened, that will cause trouble for him even without proof. I do not know how the justice system in this world works, but the amount of evidence needed to launch a serious investigation is all but guaranteed to be less than is needed to convict someone.
