There’s a silly outtake of this strip for WALL-E fans. (Cloud’s dialog in the third panel has been changed)
- Sandra: You… you think that Larisa is prettier than me?
- Cloud: Come on, I’m not going to give my best friends a graphics rating!
- Sandra: But what about other girls? Do you think Zoey is prettier than me?
- Cloud: Okay, now you’re getting weird. Do you want me to look at Zoey and think: “Hey, Zoey is 7% prettier than Sandra, gotta ditch her!”
- Cloud: You’re pretty, you’re clever, and it’s always lots of fun when you’re around. There’s no other girl I’d rather be with, okay?
- WALL-E: Eeeee… va.
- Cloud: Yes Cloud, a little lie would have hurt.

I make it a personal habit to not comment on webcomics, but this one was just too amazing to pass by. Very well done, good job to the artist and writer.

Very nice recovery, Cloud. Very nice. I don’t think there’s really a better way this could have been handled, save by not having the awkward pause before the recovery… but then it would not have aligned with the WALL-E scene.

i concur. although for me it was a long time ago, indeed, i remeber that when i was 11, i was still entrenched in the “girls have cooties” stage.

Well, I think Cloud get out from previous situation masterfully… too masterfully, compare to previous strip.
But I’m still think that Larisa is better. Maybe because I like to burn things? Or ’cause I’m Russian?
Sandra more childish and yes, pushy… And, I must say, with this strip her character looks more realistic than others.

Girls, yes you do suddenly get paranoid like this and start asking guys weird questions
Guy, yes girls like it when you’re honest with them and tell them you like them and like spending time with them
Why do some many people find it hard to grasp these simple concepts…apart from Cloud and Sandra, they are the role models! Learn from them

The style is quite “simple” but you can perfectly see the characters emotions and it simply fits to what they say.
It’s like you’re not just reading text but faces, too.

About the age question: Sandra’s crush on Cloud became visible in August, Woo felt pushed aside by Cloud in September, and the “Love Sux”-triangle was in October. Meanwhile all the classmates we know seem to feel old enough for relationships.
Do they grow up so fast today, or is it the same as with older children’s birthday parties being teenage-style? (Because the birthday child would find a traditional party too embarassing)

Quick comment on the age-to-romance stuff. Personally, and I just might have been the weirdest boy in forever, I had my first love at, like, eight. And I was already technically interested in girls since for a year or so before that. We all mature at different rates (psh, like I was mature then… or now), so it’s really not that much of a stretch to reality, and with my personal experience I’m honestly surprised that anyone is surprised.
Now I’m going to start looking at girls in videogame terms:
good graphics – check
interesting story – check
good gameplay =3 – check
