- Mori: Thanks. If there is anything I can do for you…
- Butterfly: Just catch me if I slip off. … Hmm, no, wait, there is something you could do!

- Mori: No problem.

Hey, using the eagle to climb the mountain is cheating….
So much dynamic jump… She’s like a predator about to grab a prey <3 Fly, Butterfly, fly! and don't fall down since the hawk seems to be sent off somewhere else ^^U
Seriously, the last panels for this comic and previous comic are awesome. we need them as wallpaper and coloured please
I think it’s fair to say that Butterfly is the most badass in the comic… Behind Cloud’s mum.
Unspoken Plan Guarantee in full effect!
I think it would be awesome if Butterfly becomes a regular character somehow.
Except for the trussed-up vulture, there’s no one within a couple of hundred feet.
Why is Butterfly whispering?
Great art today, especially the final panel!
@ Neutrino:
The art is *always* great. Powree is amazing.
On that last panel I can’t help but hear the jump sound effect from the old Mega Man X games for SNES.
@ Pikadusk:
The Eagle is there to catch her if she falls.
Dat Last panel is so friggin cool! If only I could draw like that!
Still very suspicious about that there secret that’s going on.
Hey just a question recently last summer there was this event where a man was tightrope walking across the Grand Canyon without a net. Luckily he made it across safe and sound. I have noticed that this Comic arc bears a strong resemblance to that event. Both him and Butterfly are doing something that few can master, Also this could have been their last day on earth. But I don’t think butterfly will fall. Plus thousands upon thousands of people watched them. To even go further The man was Christian which means that God was watching it too, same as The raccoon goddess. was this arc based of that event? However I don’t think an assassin was after him though.
But hey it’s just a theory… A game… Oops wrong place to say that.
I think we all agree that we need a wallpaper version of that last panel.
There is one thing that makes me confused… I thought that vulture should be not so strong… Shouldn’t Mori be vicious carnivore, while vultures are simply eating something that is already dead…
Just like in the Lord of the Rings – everybody needs an eagle.
btw, in lotr, if they had just used the eagles at the beginning, it would have been much easier.
@ Martin Cohen:
EEeeeeeeif you read the books instead of just watching the movies you would understand that the Eagles wouldn’t go near a place of such great evil as Mordor.
My 20 cents (I’m broke, okay?) is on she asked Mori not to eat her if he has to catch her.
I just saw the LEGO movie, the girl I’ve had a crush on for 7 years just asked me out, and this comic updated. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
@ Neutrino:
Because Powree doesn’t want us to know what she’s saying! XD
Sending off the eagle just as she’s about to make the crazy-difficult jump?! Sounds like a bad idea to me! D:
Shoryuken!
@ Neutrino: Because the 4th wall is mighty thin. 😉
@ Neutrino:
The Fooooouuuuuuurth Waaaaaaaaallllll!
(Of doom!)
I’m not the first one to respond, but darnit, I’m keeping this one!
At a best guess the eagle is going off to warn any Other predators on the mountain that she dealt with the vulture Herself. Would explain the eagle’s evil grin too.
@ JediRanger:
Two reasons I don’t think this would happen:
1 – Two raccoons are hard enough to distinguish here, and
2 – Woo’s mate would end up feeling jealous, and a little scrap could eventually come up.
By the way, first time poster here. Terrific comic.
@ Neutrino:
Slight bending of the 4th wall. They don’t want us to hear.
@ MawileCeyvis:
Well I just beat Mario Sunshine yesterday for the second time so I guess everything’s cool for me too
Congrats Dude !
Well, of course, “4th wall”. (duh)
But Butterfly isn’t supposed to be aware of that.
She thinks that only Seeoahtlahmakaskay is watching.
(And we’re watching Seeoahtlahmakaskay & friends. What does that make us?)
@ Switch Master:
A Comic Theory!
Is the game theorists channel so popular, that anybody else understood what he was referencing.
@ Obstructor:
Can’t speak for anyone else, but I got it. That said, though, I only just recently found the channel.
@ Switch Master: Such game, so theory, much reference understanding high five…
Guess I am the only one thinking that the plan is to make everyone think Butterfly fell so that she can retire. She is under a lot of stress, she thinks that she is pushing her luck, and she wants to stop all of this and relax. If she falls now she can retire and not lose face too much.
This is a very fine story arc! The only thing that could possibly improve it would be interspersing panels of two hot, lesbian schoolgirls kissing each other…
Sorry – I couldn’t resist – but I am serious that this is a dynamic and fun story arc… both the writing and the art are quite enjoyable…
This comic is so freakin awesome!!! Even the word awesome cannot describe its awesomeness!!
Fanboy moment aside, I think that getting a bald eagle to do something to help you may be cheating, I’m not saying that you are not cool, don’t get me wrong, but I still think its cheating. Woo you are the best and so is cloud.
hmmm… three tags for one being… eagle, bald eagle, and Mori. was that a mistake?
@ MawileCeyvis:
Good for you!
@ Switch Master:
Wait Maybe the vulture represented Death. It all makes sense since vultures are predators. I guess it was like death was waiting for butterfly to mess up but since the man made it out ok that means that it couldn’t happen. Same as with Butterfly and the Vulture. But hey it’s just a theory….
A comic theory! Yhea if you wanna learn cool stuff about video games you should really check out their channel.
Can’t wait until Thursday for the next part of this comic! 🙂 🙂 🙂 😉
@ Neutrino:
To fuck with us
@ Obstructor:
Enough that I got it too!
Man, love how that final panel looks. Very anime/manga-esque. Good luck to Butterfly–although I bet all will go well anyway.
@ Fluffy:
Two problems with that, great as I appreciate your comment and the knowledge it has imparted. In the movie, the eagles lift Frodo/Sam directly off of the mountain in Mordor, as I recall, so in the MOVIE at least, that’s a plot hole, but let’s leave the movie alone and just focus on the books for the two problems.
One: Nobody, not eagles, not wizards, not hobbitses, not elves, nobody wants to go to Mordor, short this band of seven madmen(Lessee…Elf, Dwarf, two humans, four hobbits, wizard), ‘scusi, nine madmen, I counted both the hobbit pairs as one singular entity, because they ARE halflings after all :P, and the Eagles have been shown to be capable of intellectual discussion before (in The Hobbit). So one of them might be willing/able if directly asked to at least cover a good portion of the ground.
Two: The Eagles were willing to fly near a dragon lair, with no real evidence the dragon was gone (again, Re: the hobbit) and just have their good ol’ fun time fighting in that mass war towards the end of the Hobbit, so it has been shown they can at least perceive an ability to enter an area of ‘great evil’, because I believe that’s one of the many descriptions for Smaug.
To my mind, the reasons they didn’t poke the Eagles and beg for a lift stems from two things. One: It wouldn’t make a good story. Two: If you ignore the meta-aspect, the Eagles might have been well out of their way, and Sauron had a few friends in the wizarding community who might have been able to just lob a fireball at the -significantly- more visible birds (Although wizards rarely actually directly seemed to do anything in that story that might be viewed as, say, a fireball or anything so primarily obvious.)
That said, I definitely appreciate your expertise as well. I don’t recall the book saying that, but my mind is so full of holes facts occasionally sieve out.
@ Switch Master:
*gasp* Are you the game theorist? You’re awesome, dude. (Also: a Comic Theory!)
DaPrezzie wrote:
No, MatPat is the game theorist. His friend is Gaijin Goombah.
@ DaPrezzie:
No I’m just an Average American Cidizen who watches Anime and Plays Megaman.
And also is trying to work on making a video game.
Yhea I’m not cut out to be a theorist but I do no this!!!!
Mario’s a Phdychotic Pimp!
I also draw my own comics and make my own games. But they’re not being distributed at the moment so don’t go looking for them online or anything.
I predict she told mori to carry her down the mountain so she won’t have to jump.
DaPrezzie wrote:
Well I’m not a game theorist but I’m a game developer 🙂
Nah I just watch them sometimes when I’m on YouTube and I’m not listening to THP music or Megaman Music.
@ MawileCeyvis:
Good on you mate!
@ Obstructor:game
Game theorist channel? never heard of it, but I know what the fourth wall is.
