- Taylor: Mister Williams?
- Cloud: Yes?
- Taylor: It’s been brought to our attention what you gave Sandra for her birthday. We hope that there’s a good reason for your behavior. Otherwise we’ll find ourselves forced to tease you about it until the heat death of the universe.
- Taylor: You have thirty seconds. Choose your words wisely.

At first I thought Taylor was just Larissa dressing up for a skit.
What’s your problem Larissa? You are clearly Larissa.
How about “At least I got a girl friend, unlike you”?

I know it’s you Larisa. You can’t hide.
I dunno, she’d have had to cut her hair for the part, since Larisa’s braid is longer than Taylor’s. Though, the likeness is hard to dismiss…
…so, future love child of Larisa and Landon come back to prevent the technological singularity which somehow involves teasing Cloud over his gifting decisions?
“Tease me to the end of time if you want. It’s really not your business. But if you give Sandra any grief over this, I will make that MY business.”
Isn’t that teacher Larissa in disguise?

Further evidence to support the theory is that recording device she is holding…
From a comical standpoint, I think mentioning Larissa would be enough since everyone knows how persuasive and manipulative she can be, as others suggested. At the very least, the other students would think she threatened to burn him or something.
But for a more genuinely valid answer, going back to a few comments from the previous strip, as well as what Arent and Guru said. He could just say he felt comfortable enough to do it and that it’s nobody’s business, but if anyone thinks that’s embarrassing, ask them whether they can presume to be in such a stable and healthy relationship.

I think it’s a stopwatch, to go with the gag.
@ MidoriLuna:
Yep, my bad.
why did she give him a marker when it’s a chalkboard? and I’m still confused about how the students know, I mean, only Sandra, Sandra’s dad, Sandra’s Granddad, and Larisa knew, why would they tell other people?
@ protoeevee:
Don’t forget to use the Church Lady voice.
@ Looney Tunes Addict:
Hey don’t be presuming pronouns here.
Here’s what you say Cloud:
“Yes, I bought Sandra sexy clothes, you know why? Because I love her and know that: (a) she is hot, and (b) all of you assclowns are jealous deep down that I have someone who would look good in it for a girlfriend. So go ahead, mock me. I will treasure it because deep down, I know every one of you is secretly seething over the fact that I have such a loving and beautiful girlfriend.”
I like her.
Never help a bully. Unexpected self-reinforcement of the teasing is typically devastating to the bullies. Soo, the response could be: “I gave her beutiful things because I like her and she looks great in them. Don’t be mad, some day someone will gift you sexy underwear too.” Note that the response is deadly effective regardless of the gender of the bully.
Is “Larisa convinced me it was a good idea” a valid defense?
This is actually a good troll by Taylor. Nothing he says is going to help him out of being teased; anthing he does say will just prolong the teasing. Taylor well knows this, that’s why confronting him in front of the class is so efficiently ruthless.
She’d be a great antithesis against someone like Larisa, honestly.
Poor Cloud… D:
@ Van:
Perfect
@ Crystalgate:
Larisa seduced him into doing it. She was like Doc Oct from Spider Man 2, who was talked into doing what the Tentacle Claws wanted to do. THEY were in control, and Octavius was just their puppet. Joker, is a Non-Superpowered version, being able to manipulate people into betraying others or even their own beliefs with just a few words and smarmy acting.
So no matter how you want to say that Cloud’s Weak Willed, you look at the above, and then put it from his point of view. While he did carry it out, he at least tried to back out when he realized it. The ones who fell to Joker? They never did… Or they never could. And no matter what, even though Larisa never seduced Sandra, she was still able to prove that she was easy to manipulate. No matter what, she was still the source, still the one who planted the Seeds.
As a matter of fact, I think this is something that many of you all miss, but when Larisa was seducing Cloud into buying Lingerie, it was eerily similar to the scene where Doctor Octavius becomes the Puppet of his Claws, Cloud even stating it’s a bad idea, before he caves.
it’s a shame Larissa’s not there, she make some comment about playing with “her toys”
@ Van:
I belive, the best answer for this is “Larisa…” Thats all. They should all get it that moment.
@ Anon:
Either that, or she’s a Librarian or supply teacher in training.
“An evil succubus conned me into it”
While we’re on the subject, does Larissa have a twin?
badbloodkiller wrote:
I respectfully disagree… obviously this would be the order twin… larisa is the chaos twin
Pretty sure all he has to do is say “Larisa” and everyone else will nod and draw their own conclusions.
@ VJ Lazarus.:
I’m going to throw out everything about Octavius and Joker since I know nothing about Spider Man villains and have a hard time taking the Joker serious.
Anyway, you may be right. In this case, supernatural elements are kind of colliding with real world logic. Looking at strip 886, Larissa literally bewitched him. Later, at panel 4 of strip 887, Cloud seems to have snapped out of the spell. However, in strip 888, while Larisa seem to just use persuasion, she then tries to bewitch her father, almost like a “hey, bewitching people is working, let’s try it on daddy!” which would suggest that she was still bewitching Cloud after he seemingly snapped out of it, only more subtly.
If Larisa was bewitching Cloud all the time, then all real life logic goes right out of the window. I made the assumption that at strip 893, when Larisa was explaining herself, she was just twisting the truth, not flat out lying (which she is not good at). This implies that Cloud had enough free will to make the choice of backing out once he called out Larisa of bewitching him.
As for her manipulating Sandra, that says more about Sandra than about Larisa. A lot of readers, including me, found Larisa’s explanation very weak.
It is true that Larisa planted the seed. However, as long as Cloud took part in letting the seed grow and bloom, he is partially guilty. To give you an example, if say you are married and someone plants the seeds of doubt in you about your spouse’s faithfulness, you are still responsible for any actions you take. If that person lied to you, that person is now at fault, but you are not by a long shot absolved from responsibility for any actions taken. Likewise, Larisa planting the seeds in Cloud does make her guilty, but Cloud is still guilty as well.
That is, unless Larisa was bewitching Cloud all the time, even after he seemingly snapped out of it, but then it makes the whole issue completely uninteresting. It could still be so though.
More evidence for twin theory:

She looks familiar. Does Larissa really think nobody will recognize her under those glasses?
@ TvTropesgotmehooked:
Wait, so does this mean that somewhere in the city, there’s an army of cloned
AyanamisLarisas waiting in vat tanks?I would assume that “larisa made me do it” wouldnbe acceltavle and quite common excuse in that school…
@ Van: I think just “Larisa.” would be enough.
@ Arent:
Nah Cloud’s one those “cool kids” who would totally murder someone but not use their power for anything other than self-defense. The kids know their boundaries, and this isn’t breaking it at all.
