[1268] Hitomi Is Unsure

Here’s the obligatory link to our Kickstarter campaign for the Gaia anthology and Sandra and Woo books!
- Richard: It’s something “super awesome”?
- Sandra: It may not be as cool as a hover board with a personal dedication by Michael J. Fox, but it’s close!
- Hitomi: And it’s pink! And it involves cats! And flowers!
- Sandra: And math! And soccer! And raccoons!
- Sandra: So yeah, something super awesome!
- Hitomi: Hitomi unsure if someone who didn’t save world from evil overlord even deserves gift like this…
Steady there, Richard. Don’t let your inner child get TOO excited about the present, or whatever it is, no matter how objectively awesome, will seem anticlimactic.
If anything I would be concerned, not that there won’t be fun, but by the foreboding of disappointment about that one detail that spoils what would have been perfection…
Well, Hitomi, if you are really that uncertain, I suppose you could give it to Lili instead of Richard…
Speaking of, we haven’t seen Lily in a while. Was Woo not clingy enough?
PREDICTION: It’s a gift-boxed set of “Sandra & Woo” collected comic strips!! PLUS: “The Art of Sandra & Woo!” PLUS: Everything “GAIA!!” 🙂 🙂 🙂
The gift box and ribbon are pink. 😉
It still feels like we missed like a dozen pages of set-up for what’s going on. The preceding few pages feel completely disjointed and non-sequiter. I have no idea how they connected together or to this lol.
She wants to make you happy, risked everything just for a chance with you, and get’s along with your daughter. WHY AREN’T YOU MARRIED YET!?
Hmm Birthday present, involving that list, family timeline?
@ TwoTail:
Personally, as amazing as she is and as much as i’d probably do it myself, (and as much as I want to see it happen, both of them are awesome and deserve to be deliriously happy), I think i’d be a LITTLE apprehensive about the whole thing. They’ve only known each other for a short period yeah? And that’s not something you really want to rush into before you and everyone else involved is ready. It looks like it’s moving rather quickly to me (though it’s hard to really tell how much time has passed in a webcomic. It’s quite possible that 20 comics will go by taking up only 5 minutes and then within the span of two comics entire months have passed.) Regardless, there’s no rush. Either she’s not going anywhere so you have enough time to really feel the situation out, or she is going somewhere in which case you probably don’t want to commit to that anyways. (I’m not saying make her wait forever, just give it a proper amount of thought and planning.) Then again this is coming from the guy whose entire family has divorced everyone they married, and hasn’t had a solid romantic relationship myself in over a decade. So. Take that with a “metric carthage load of salt” as my favorite youtuber puts it.

@ Alice Macher:
would be funny if it turned out Hitomi is pregnant
They are raising his expectations waaaay too high, thus setting themselves up for failure. Keep the expectations modest and the gifted would be more likely to be pleasantly surprised when the time comes. Duh!
Aw, he’s so excited. Please don’t make it too disappointing for him.
How can all that hype NOT end in a letdown?
I do appreciate the consideration of adding a “richard as a child” tag, because I’m awful with age-shifted characters and I had NO IDEA who that was in the right half of the last panel.
Romans didn’t salt the fields of Carthage, this belief arose from a medieval translation error.
What?!? No Ginsu steak knives?
Hitomi and Sandra overdid it so badly I would have evacuated the house before storming the basement.
Yay Hitomi!

Biology at work!

I suppose Oliver and Powree might twist our expectations by fulfilling Richard’s . . . . Not sure how, but might!
So the fact “Richard as a child” is listed as a character is making me think he will somehow magically have turned into a child.
